Same thing happened in November last year. But that was down to it being near Christmas, apparently high demands for cash crashes their system.

no point keeping the branches open if your not crediting balances.

I am with RBS, I had no trouble logging into my account online, transferring money between accounts or going to the cash point earlier withdrawing some money, all of which I have done today.

From what I can gather this is just affecting money being paid into the account not showing up immediately rather than accounts being frozen.

I don't think it is time to panic yet, although there has been rather a shortage of doom porn recently, so please feel free to panic
I am sure some need their fix lol

It has come at the worst time, it looks like RBS will be downgraded 2 notches, along with with Barclays and HSBC, i find it laughable that moody's are waiting til the end of trading in New York, its still going to bash the markets tomorrow.

I dont live in the UK and this scares me. I advise ATS'ers that live in the UK, if you can get some cash out, do it now. I hold 3 mounths worth of spending cash in a undisclosed place just in case one of our (USA) banks freezes up.

In todays world people pay with plastic for EVERYTHING. Just think what will happen when the plastic stops working. How are you going to buy your food for the day when money is still good? you should also be prepping for when your paper money is no longer good.

good luck

so if the account is not being updated, if you have £5000 and withdraw £300 would it still say you have £5000

RBS is part public owned by the british taxpayer. On behalf of our corrupt government, the bank of pumped over £80 billion into the banks to 'kickstart the economy' last week.

WHERE HAS IT ALL GONE ALREADY??????

Shafted by the rich, every day of our wretched little lives.

Whose money do you think they pumped inot the economy?

NOT THEIRS!

i spose the hope is thats its just a glitch and not hackers, a hack like this could bring the whole system to a standstill by morning if applied to all UK banks

Think it might be an idea to go down the bank and withdraw the balance until they sort it out. Would rather have cash in my hand that a peice of plastic.

I predict a run on Natwest/ RBS/ Barclay's in the VERY near future.

This could get very nasty VERY fast.

It could be designed to get nasty..
Greece has a government now.. sort of.. greece leaving the Euro is possibly less likely at this time, but someone wants a collapse and maybe this is plan B.

Without Greece collapse, they needed another method of causing the same effect in the monetary system.
Could prove that it is not the country, or the type of money you use.. just the system itself..
