Star Trail Photos From ISS - The Best Photos You'll Never Take

As a photographer, I am astounded by the photos in many ways. The idea of a DSLR in space, the time it took to take these, the amazing results. Everything is amazing. It is true - unless you are an astronaut, you will absolutely never have the chance to take these pics with your own DSLR.

"Expedition 31 Flight Engineer Don Pettit relayed some information about photographic techniques used to achieve the images: “My star trail images are made by taking a time exposure of about 10 to 15 minutes. However, with modern digital cameras, 30 seconds is about the longest exposure possible, due to electronic detector noise effectively snowing out the image. To achieve the longer exposures I do what many amateur astronomers do. I take multiple 30-second exposures, then ‘stack’ them using imaging software, thus producing the longer exposure.”

Your first photo reminds me of a scene from star wars where the millenium falcon goes
into hyperspace.. pure genius your talents would be useful also in the moon pic threads
For you to demonstrate how cameras work to the masses etc.
