jeez we aussies are bloody funny. following are some comments on twitter:

about the block - Sophie slept, Lara cried, Dani got the #s & Dan still couldn't find his balls.

......"On a scale of 1 to "Grant Hackett just got home from the races", how bad is the damage

Reports of a Tsunami warning for Alice Springs have been exaggerated! #earthquake

So quite a few of you felt your first Earthquake in Aus? weird feeling isn't it

Must have been a fun experience for a few of you (as it wasn't server) and its good to see you guys just laughing it of in true Aussie style i can imagine facebook/titter is a buzz, i remember the first time i experienced my first EQ here in the UK just a few years back 5.6mag & 6.2mag... i had no idea what was going on at first and asked my bro to stop shaking me in my chair before i slapped him, but when i put my feet on the floor to get up it felt like my house was out at sea,
i did poo my pants abit

Stay safe guys x

To everyone in Australia...may you stay safe and healthy.

Earthquakes can be scarey...and they are no fun. I live in Seattle...and in Feb. 2001...I got home from going out to coffee...and an earthquake happened....it was a 6.8...approx. 33 miles deep and lasted for 40 seconds. I live in an old apartment building downtown (built in 1917) and I am grateful it was retro-fitted in 1995.

Anyway...I just hope that everyone is ok.

West of Melbourne here. "Sunshine" Felt a nice sway for about 10 seconds. A wine glass broke. Thats about it.

On a side note, I've had a migrane since 3am and It's been gone since the Quake. Cue twilight zone music....

On a humorous note there were reports of a meth lab going up in Moe????

ive been feeling a few tremors lately at home and work. none as big as the one tonight but they've definitely been happening. its an eerie feeling of being completely powerless to mother nature.

Was the first I remember feeling, they say biggest in over 100 yrs so I would assume many victorians like myself were a bit suprised by it. Yes a very weird feeling, would hate to ever feel anything much bigger.
