Yep.. Go to any McDonalds down my way and instead of high school kids they are full of immigrant workers. I wont say illegal on that because I am assuming that if McDonalds hired them they are probably legal but I bet they are still working for minimum wage and those jobs are not going to a local high school kid.

And how do you know they are "immigrants"???

Do they wear a sign?

Really? BECAUSE THEY ARE MEXICAN AND THEY ALL SPEAK SPANISH. Is that clear enough? I didnt say illegal immigrants. You really are grasping at straws here. You gonna call me racist now for making that assumption?

Your reply was perfection!

As for the OP, if you were acting as if you were starring on Comedy Centrals show Roast, you also achieved perfection!

I would love to add a little bit of my own to TheRedneck's reply! I have not one shred of racism in me, HOWEVER, I will choose who I like and dislike using whichever method I prefer! I know a person who is close to 50 years old, and about 25 years ago she made the choice to manufacture and abuse drugs, leaving her 7 year old son and 10 year old daughter. She got busted and was in prison throughout all of her sons high school years. She has been clean and sober since 1995 now (she has never worked a single day in her life), and somehow has been collecting welfare since she's been out of prison. As a young lady I am very respectful especially to my elder's, but, it is so incredibly difficult for me to keep my trap shut when I'm around her. She is a blonde-hair blue-eyed obama lover, and it drives me absolutely insane!

I read a previous comment that stated a lot of American's are immigrants, and that is factual! My great-grandparents are from Italy, 2 are from Portugal, and 2 are from France, legally. They paid their dues, and were good people. Im from San Diego and I would estimate at least 70% of crimes are committed by Mexicans and African Americans . I honestly can't even venture out of my little town because I have horrible road-rage. A couple of weeks ago I was going through a green light, and an old suburban with Baja Cali plates was turning right onto my street, and without slowing down even the slightest she ran a red light and I had to SLAM on my breaks to avoid hitting her! I am also VERY offended when people dont even speak ENGLISH in AMERICA! They are disrespecting ME in my country, it is horrible in San Diego. Thank god I'm moving out of state!

Lastly, since 2008 food stamps have costed tax payers about $75,000,000,000 more a year. My father in law busted his behind doing construction since he was 16 years old and when he retires in 2 years his monthly social security check will be HALF of his mortgage. You should read up on The Cloward-Piven Strategy.

I'm aware that immigrants take the low paying jobs that I would never do but I can't afford to live with that pay. The rich get richer, and I think America needs to go back a few years and get rid of restaurants and fast food then we wouldnt be so fat and those jobs wouldnt need to be filled! We need more farmers, and less corporations!

I'm out of time but, your thread was a swing and a miss. It makes no sense and has no relevance to the truth!

You can not be so dull as to not know the difference between an employer and employee?

They do not "turn a job" into anything. They do not dictate thier wage...and if they could they would not leave Mexico.

It is the employer who makes the hiring decision....not the employee.

AND...you sound awfully "union", "anti-free market" and "socialist" to me...endorsing the US Government interfering with free market labor supply and demand.

That's free market capitalism for you.

No, that is NOT free market. One group has to obey economic restrictions like minimum wage and FICA taxes, the other does not. How in the world is that free? How is it fair? How is it just?

TheRedneck

Again, they don't have to...they can choose to work for less if they really really wanted that job...if they were determined and driven enough to get that job...they could get that job.

But you know we can solve this problem...make work permits and legal entry easy and start a severe crack down on American citizens who employ "illegals".

But it doesn't seem like you want to do ANYTHING until you can somehow lock down a 2000 mile border.

Seriously? So your saying we should become a third world country where our workers are forced to accept sub par working conditions, less pay and more work in order to still not be able to afford to put food on the table because the price of basic commodities is such that sub minimum wage cant pay for it? Hell your president has already damaged our global credit rating. Why not stick us in the 3rd world country status while he is at it.

You are totally insane. I know you wont answer this because you didn't answer it last time and have really yet to answer any question that has been asked hardly. But would you work for less than minimum wage?

This country has worked long and hard over the years to better itself. Our citizens shouldnt have to work for less than minimum wage and that is the whole point. If the illegals came here Legally and worked through the system the wages would have to come back up and people could afford those jobs. There is a reason minimum wage is there and there is a reason it is as high as it is. Its called Inflation. Read about it.

Entering illegally is a misdemeanor as you stated, the first time it is done. If it is repeated, it becomes a felony.

Nope..sorry...just because a blogger says so it doesn't mean it is true.

Penalties can go up for repeat offenses...but it still isn't a "felony".

Every time you say this I am going to post the FEDERAL LAW again for you to see. ITS A FELONY

Again...tax fraud is not unique to "illegals".

If you want to show that the overwhelming majority of "illegals" do this...then please do so and then you are free to define the group by that standard.

Finding a few examples and defining the group is just an attempt to demonize them so people can hate them for irrational reasons.

So far we have learned that illegals are drug dealing violent criminals who rape children, are plague bearers, tax cheats, identity thieves, and that destroy cultures.

There you have it...propaganda straight from members of ATS....all the reasons to HATE "illegals"....even though they are all generalizations. But next time you see someone you THINK might be illegal...don't forget how vile they are.

Blah Blah Blah Blah, Your like a broken record. So in your defense here since others are committing crimes it is ok that we let some illegals com in and commit crimes too? That doubling up the crime is ok as long as its the same crime? You still have not answered half the questions posed here with anything remotely resembling a intelligent thought. You just yell out that "See they hate Illegals" when we have offered up MANY MANY reasons why they are a drain on our economy, they lead to lower wages, they DO commit crime and some are absolutely unforgivable crimes and EVERY LAST ONE of them has committed a federal offense. Do you think you should get a free pass if you commit a federal offense? They did so why not you? That seems to be your logic here.

WOW, I've been reading you're post and I don't know if you are just ignorant, or seriously mentally challenged. Illegal Immigrants DO NOT ALWAYS commit unforgivable crimes. Yes, we've gotten past the point that they are illegal, but you keep demonizing us, WE ARE RAPE CHILDREN, WE ALL RAPE TEENAGERS. What is your logic? Illegals are nothing but rapist, killers, drug dealers, is that your logic?

Maybe you should read again before you call me ignorant. I didnt say they were all rapists. My point was that some of them do commit very bad crimes. But ALL of them have committed a Felony by being here illegally. Where did I say they were all child rapists? Do not put words in my mouth. But yes there are plenty of illegals that have committed violent crimes. That is a fact. But please point out where I said that they ALL rape teenagers.

Illegal immigrnats don't pay taxes and do not help contribute to the country is why they are illegal people. Not racism nor is it hatred. They will ruin the entire economy and the government does not care at all.

But blame the government and how dumb they abuse laws and corrupt the economies is the real problem.Mexico is just as much to blame as the U.S.
They don't have to have Social Security number either. They don't have to have ID to drive. They don't have to pay anything because they are absuing the law.

Illegal immigration is a Civil matter, which means it's ruled by Civil Law not Criminal Law. Immigration cases are heard in front of an administrative law judge for the BCIS not a criminal judge.

An illegal alien has broken a law, but a civil one, not a criminal law therefore is not a criminal per se.

It is not a felony.

First offense is a Civil Law violation, second offense can be prosecuted as a "crime" though not neccessarily a Felony.

Um, no!!!!!
You are wrong.
The act of breaking the Legal Statute as provided by TheTardis is FEDERAL criminal Statute.
The cases before a Judge, a FEDERAL Judge, when revolving around a person becoming a citizen is civil in nature.
The action of crossing ILLEGALLY and/or staying here ILLEGALLY is a FEDERAL crime.

Civil Laws are speeding enforcement, unless it is 20+ of the posted speed.

Backseat Law is very very ignorant.

I see no reason why I, as a taxpayer, should be forced to adapt to the whims of someone who comes here not to live and contribute and make a life, but to send money back home and then run after it when the authorities close in. I was here first; my family and my ancestors developed this place for us to live in, and it is a serious show of disrespect for anyone to think that we should be forced to adapt to someone else because they decide at the last moment to walk in.

So when they buy groceries or gas...they get a free discount? No taxes on those purchases?

When they rent an apartment, those rental payments do not pay real estate taxes?

AND they pay Social Security and Medicaire and Unemployment Insurance through deductions..as the employer is required to withold those amounts.

Lastly...there is a method of paying income tax even if you are not a legal citizen, and many illegals pay that income tax each year...

Many illegal immigrants pay up at tax time

NASHVILLE — The tax system collects its due, even from a class of workers with little likelihood of claiming a refund and no hope of drawing a Social Security check.

Illegal immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year. One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around $9 billion per year.

Paycheck withholding collects much of the federal tax from illegal workers, just as it does for legal workers.

The Internal Revenue Service doesn't track a worker's immigration status, yet many illegal immigrants fearful of deportation won't risk the government attention that will come from filing a return even if they might qualify for a refund. Economist William Ford of Middle Tennessee State University says there are no firm figures on how many such taxpayers there are.

"The real question is how many of them pay more than they owe. There are undoubtedly hundreds of thousands of people in that situation," Ford said.

But some illegal immigrants choose to file taxes and write a check come April 15, using an alternative to the Social Security number offered by the IRS so it can collect income tax from foreign workers.

"It's a mistake to think that no illegal immigrants pay taxes. They definitely do," said Martha Pantoja, who has been helping Hispanic immigrants this tax season as an IRS-certified volunteer tax preparer for the non-profit Nashville Wealth Building Coalition.

Among those she has assisted is Eric Jimenez, a self-employed handyman who has worked in Nashville for several years. He feels obliged to pay taxes — even though, as Pantoja said, "nothing would happen" to him if he did not.

"I have an idea, a mentality, that to be a good citizen you have to pay taxes," he said. "Also, I'm conscious of the fact that the money we pay in taxes supports the schools and all the public services."

Now see, that was all just your opinion. Since you shared your opinion, I'll share mine.
My problem with Immigrants, illegal or not, is the fact that they push their country down our throats (Mexicans, mainly). They expect US to speak Spanish, put Spanish on everything, celebrate THEIR holidays, and the fact that they're always going on about how great their country is. If they expect us to welcome them, they need to be AMERICAN, learn English, and respect our country.

Where are you expected to speak Spanish

And they aren't the ones "putting Spanish" on everything...companies do it because they want their business...if you don't like it...take it up with those particular companies or boycott them.

Again. You obviously dont live anywhere near these people you speak of. They have taken over large sections of the suburbs and THEY put spanish all over the small businesses and shops they have opened. The fly their flag on their cars, out in front of their shops, all over the mobile restaurants they open. There are no companies involved here. And if you go to that area of town and try to go into one of said shops, you will need to speaks spanish. Again, you dont know what you are talking about and you obviously dont live where there is any sort of immigrant population.

.

Illegal Immigration Laws

Most Americans know our basic laws regarding illegal immigration. It is illegal to enter the United States without permission. The first time an illegal immigrant is caught in the US it is a misdemeanor civil offense. This is because we want to be able to quickly return illegal aliens to Mexico or Canada, when they are caught at the border without the rigors of a jury trial.

After the first offense, being caught a second time is a felony!

The Law and Illegal Immigration

According to U.S. immigration laws, illegal entrance into the United States is considered to be a misdemeanor civil offense. After the first attempt at illegal entry, a second attempt is deemed a felony.

or here...10 Myths About Immigration

Anyone who enters the country illegally is a criminal.
only very serious misbehavior is generally considered “criminal” in our legal system. Violations of less serious laws are usually “civil” matters and are tried in civil courts. People accused of crimes are tried in criminal courts and can be imprisoned.

Federal immigration law says that unlawful presence in the country is a civil offense and is, therefore, not a crime. The punishment is deportation. However, some states—like Arizona—are trying to criminalize an immigrant’s mere presence.

Having been in LE for many of years in AZ, I do understand how to read the law.

1990—Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 101–649, §543(b)(2), inserted “or attempts to enter” after “(1) enters” and “attempts to enter or” after “or (3)”, and substituted “shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined not more than $2,000 (or, if greater, the amount provided under title 18) or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years” for “shall, for the first commission of any such offenses, be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof be punished by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by a fine of not more than $500, or by both, and for a subsequent commission of any such offenses shall be guilty of a felony and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than two years, or by a fine of not more than $1,000”.

Imprisonment for a CIVIL offense???
Nope.
No where does it state it is a Civil Offense.
It is a Federal Misdemeanor for the first go around. And that is just on the act of crossing.
The second offense comes with they are here without permission.
The third offense is typically by providing false identification to LEO during the investigation of a crime.
Fourth offense is usually the transport of drugs.
Fifth offense is having documents like, I don't know, IDs and SSN of US Citizens.

SO.....................
Again, not Civil in Nature.
You have no understanding of Law.
If you can be jailed for a civil infraction, then you can be jailed for the act of speeding, under 20+ of the posted limit.

Not sure you do...but being from Arizona might explain your confusion..

Here from your non-linked excerpt...

be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof be punished by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by a fine of not more than $500, or by both, and for a subsequent commission of any such offenses shall be guilty of a felony and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than two years, or by a fine of not more than $1,000”.

You do know what the word "subsequent" means????

First offense...civil misdemeanor
Second offense...potential felony

So says the law...so says the several sources I cited in my last post...so says your own rebuttal excerpt....but keep going, great stuff when people favor thier ego over reality.
