At first it sounded like it was something the school did. Which sounded absurd. Once I realized it was the kids doing it themselves, it became a little less absurd. I think the teacher should be reprimanded for not having any control of the kids and letting it get that far, and the kids should be suspended like the story said they were.

But the fact that one of those boys thought up the test where they all wear gym shorts, watch porn and masturbate in the same room, sounds like maybe they didn't need the test to tell them something...

I wish people read the article before drawing an opinion.

Nothing in the article states this was a teacher-initiated event. It says it was something the students did on their own. One student apparently claims the teacher did not put a stop to it. Nothing presented in the article states he even knew it was happening.

Wow that's really disturbing.

Those teachers should be fired. Sex education is one thing, but sexual orientation education should be something handled privately by parents.

The teacher of this class needs to be fired and added to the sexual offenders registry..

I fully agree with you.

This is sick. I'm wondering what could have motivated a teacher to do this.
The only motivations I can come up with are pretty darn sick ones.

Motivated the teacher to do what?

Read the article.

I was unsure of the Teacher's involvement.

So, unlike my local paper I didn't splash his picture on the thread.

How they could have gotten away with this with the full knowledge of the teacher is beyond me. How is it the teacher couldn't know that showing porn in class and open masturbation were things that should be forbidden in a school environment?

The teacher shouldn't just be fired, he (or she) should be subject to public shaming. I say put him in stocks and allow the parents to throw rotten fruit at him. If we brought back a little old style justice to this country, maybe people would finally take responsibility for their actions.

Again, you people should REALLY read the article before jumping to such conclusions.

The teacher had nothing to do with this.

The teacher had something to do with it. I mean, he is in charge of the classroom. Where was he?

Sure. But he didnt, as several people in this thread have claimed, show them the porn or encourage the game.

Did you even read the article?

Yes, I read the article. And I'm not in the group who is saying the teacher showed them the porn or made them take this "test". But you said the teach had nothing to do with it. He should have had something to do with it, should have not let them do it in the first place. He should be punished for that fact.

He should be punished for letting them do something that apparently he didnt know they were doing?

And this whole thing is only based on the claims of some students. You want a teacher punished for the rumors of a few students?

Maybe I just expect too much from teachers than to know when their students are watching porn and jerking it. Something is wrong with that picture.

And you're right. If it's just a rumor from a few students it should be looked into more. And the teacher should be looked into more at the very least.

Yes, I read the article and understand that the teacher had nothing to do with the "gay test". What upset me is the fact that the teacher allowed this to go on and didn't do anything about it. I find it impossible to believe that something like this could happen in a classroom without the teacher knowing.

Here's another article with more details of the teachers response to this incident;

Several of the students raised their hands to report the behavior, and nothing was done, according to the written statements and one student interviewed by The Watchdog.

According to the student, the teacher said he would give the students referrals to the office if he caught them, before returning to a book he was reading at his desk. The student said everything was in plain view, had the teacher glanced in the direction of the activity.

“They weren’t even trying to hide it at all,” the student told The Watchdog. “It really made me and the other students mad that he wouldn’t do anything about the things happening in the class and it was affecting our education and it was nasty, also.”

Students watched porn in 7th grade class. San Diego classmates say they reported goings-on, and teacher did nothing

What's even more upsetting is that the union is protecting this guy.

Bill Daniel, special education teacher and school site union representative, wrote June 8 at 5:25 p.m.:

“Some of us are collecting signatures of support for Ed Johnson. We only want to support him as a friend and colleague. We are making no judgments. Our petition only states that there appears to be rush to judgment based on questionable statements made by very young children. If you wish to support Ed I will have the petition with me for you to sign."

Middle school incident sparks 'horrible questions'

Luckily, the principal isn't buying their rhetoric, although this guy still has his job.

Less than an hour later, Vice Principal Kathleen Gallagher responded:

“As the administrator who initially investigated this incident, I would like to say for the record that I never suspend students unless the information is accurately verified. The statements submitted by students should not be discounted based on their age. "

Sure, looked into, but not burned at the stake, as many headline readers seem to think.

When I went to Our Lady of Las Vegas, the nuns would have chewed your penis off for watching porn or masturbating. Gay porn? They would have choked you with the Rosary.

Also the article said he was a Special Ed. Teacher.

It did not say if these were Special Ed. Students.

The teacher, or the school, were NOT the ones administering the "gay test".
I have found a funny gay test, i believe you might be gay or at lest 30% above.
