It's a Filipino commercial i'm guessing, based on the word "Ko" at the end.. McDonald's is in hand to hand combat with Jollibee for fast food superiority there in the Philippines. McD's is telling them to eat there for breakfast and have a happy day. Filipino's like fast food as much as anyone else.

I was going to ask where this targeted market was, as it's definitely not the US. That said, I assume this ad has been carefully tailored to appeal to the local demographic that McDonald's is trying to "woo". It's just marketing, nothing more, nothing less, as I see it.

This is old hat! Every business worth it's salt usually finds a way to sell you something you probably don't need.

I don't think "eat the fries" that there is anything "eat the fries" different going on "eat the fries" at McD's than any other place. They pay big money to find ways to make you WANT what they have.

Not evil. Just business. And the fries are killer as well.

After 10 years in advertisement/PR/propaganda field I can say:
Most of ad "creatives" are useful idiots and have no knowledge of on what they are participating. Most of management are "evil" people - they are not absolutely evil, they are just psychopaths and have no sense of good/bad apart of very narrow "good/bad for me". Business itself (at least today) prefers psychopathic traits (at least on management level). Psychopaths behavior is easy to predict hence it is easy to motivate them effectively. This un-ability to distinguish between good/bad is hence integral part of business today. From my view point it is bad hence current form of business is bad. Just business = EVIL.

Read this article then come back here and tell me what you think about it.

I personally don't know what to think anymore, I use to look at Mcdonalds as a "happy" place now i'm confused!

elohimlove.com...

McDonalds targets kids because they want life long customers. They use bright colors & fun things to get the kids attention so they want to go to McDonalds. They hope that when a kid sees something in the real world that was in the commercial that it will trigger the child to want McDonalds. Eventually as they get older they still go to McDonalds and they have commercials for that too. One recently ran where it was showing teenagers eating McDonalds and then flash backed to when they were kids eating at mcdonalds, adults and old folks eating at McDonalds and having flash backs to when they were younger. It's saying "Hey remember the good times you had at McDonalds, come back and have them. And it works.

Maybe there is some cultural difference thing going on here, but from my point of view as an American it is not a cool commercial. It doesn't make me think McDonald's is cool. The fact is that I love McDonald's and eat there frequently, but this commercial seems sort of gay. I don't think they would play this in the United States.

My God... they have officially run out of ideas for decent movies.

They did that 20 years ago. Everything now days is a rip off of an early movie or a remake. I can not remember seeing a movie that was really new and true. The problem is that back in the 80's they started to turn out movies so fast they ran though a live time supply if story lines and themes in a few short years. Now it is "Been there, done that" for every other movie that comes out.

You are going to start to see older movie remakes like The 3 Stooges that just came out as the new target audience gets younger. As it is now any kid over 15 has done seen the same thing half a dozen time already.

Yes, they are officially out of ideas and have been for some time now
