well be a giant mushroom.
Right here. They are not talking about it's shape.

They thought it was a stone or a rock cliff but then it didn't appear to be either of those at all. It appeared to be a giant mushroom - with rounded
sides and edges. They did not say mushroom shaped, they said mushroom. And this WAS the title of the story -

Giant Mushroom
