Obama Energy Dept. awards $2 million grant to solar company linked with Van Jones

The U.S. Department of Energy began another "program" of grant money to energy firms this week.

One in particular, Solar Mosaic, got a $2 Million "award" for doing this:

Project will lower the costs of solar financing and customer acquisition by building an innovative platform that harnesses the power of crowd-funding.

WHAT ??

Sounds like some kind of street racket hustle

Well it's no small wonder, the company lists the former Obama appointee (Special Advisor for Green Job$) and known communist and super-vermin Van Jones, who is also a lawyer, as an "advisor" and has also retained Jones' company, "Rebuild the Dream" to do its public relations work !!!

What a con game this one is

On Wednesday the Department of Energy began financing solar power installation research with a $2 million award to Solar Mosaic. The solar energy research company has former Obama “green jobs” czar Van Jones listed as an advisor It also employed Rebuild the Dream Jones’ firm, to do its public relations work.

The DOE’s grant money will be distributed to nine companies in four states. Solar Mosaic received the most money, four times the amount of most other grants.

Jones resigned his post in the Obama administration three years ago amid controversy stemming from his past remarks.

Before working in the Obama White House, Jones signed a petition alleging officials in the George W. Bush administration “may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.”

Follow the links above to the Solar Mosaic website. There you will see other commie people and commie outfits listed as well

The Obama Administration continues on and on with this garbage.

It needs to stop

Where's the proof Van Jones is a commie. Surely you have proof of this seeing how you changed the title to say that and all.

He has admitted it.

Earlier activism

In 1992, while still a law student at Yale, Jones participated as a volunteer legal monitor for a protest of the Rodney King verdict in San Francisco. He and many other participants in the protest were arrested. The district attorney later dropped the charges against Jones. The arrested protesters, including Jones, won a small legal settlement. Jones later said that "the incident deepened my disaffection with the system and accelerated my political radicalization."[17] In October 2005 Jones said he was "a rowdy nationalist"[14] before the King verdict was announced, but that by August of that year (1992) he was a communist.[14] His activism was also spurred on by witnessing racial inequality in New Haven, Connecticut: "I was seeing kids at Yale do drugs and talk about it openly, and have nothing happen to them or, if anything, get sent to rehab...And then I was seeing kids three blocks away, in the housing projects, doing the same drugs, in smaller amounts, go to prison."[12]

When he graduated from law school, Jones gave up plans to take a job in Washington, D.C., and moved to San Francisco instead.[14] He became a member[18] of a "socialist collective" called Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) that protested against police brutality.

Van Jones wiki

(source [14])

“I met all these young radical people of color. I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, This is what I need to be a part of. I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary. I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th and then by August, I was a communist.”

Green Jobs Czar Van Jones Is An Admitted Communist

Does anyone have a problem with Van Jones being a communist ?

I have a problem with anybody who is a communist.

Communism is the worst kind of cancer inflicted upon mankind by that cabal. That is the nr 1 on the list. That ideology is the worst crime against humanity ever having walked on this planet.

If anything like the OP states is true, that particular person, should come forth and apologize for supporting a violent, crimes-against-humanity movement, and that he has rejected that malevolent ideology and never since coerced or promoted its principles.

That company is a pretty cool business plan tbh. Funding solar installations is the difficult part, not the technology. By now, solar cells are highly efficient...which is why before the crisis (when funding was easy to come by) many commercial (and residential) properties started using them. The Meridien in Hawaii for example powers their entire aircon and most of the public space electricity using a system like that. The problem is, as opposed to oil, solar requires a larger upfront investment...which means people need loans.

Given the current economic climate, getting funding is hard...so a company finding a way around that problem through crowd sourcing should be pretty successful. It's an innovative way of dealing with a major obstacle of solar in this economic climate.

As for the Van Jones thing...who cares if the company is actually doing a good thing? Nothing compared to the Koch brothers dealing with Iran, or paying hefty fines for pollution (which they count as a "cost"). Those companies are actually doing something bad...versus this solar company who's trying to solve a major obstacle of clean energy.

Van Jones' political leanings are irrelevant. Obama's government just awarded a $2 million grant to a personal friend of his.

Yet the Obamites will continue to support and defend him to their dying breath. Even though he couldn't give two squats about the U.S. or his sycophants. Pathetic.

Van Jones is listed as an adviser, whoop dee doo. Solar Mosaic is a great company with real innovation that offers a new design on capturing solar energy. It's more effective and more efficient than previous designs. This whole situation is a joke. It's a joke for right wing media to attack and it's a joke for the DOE and Obama to claim they support alternative energy while doling out piddly 2 million dollar grants...wtf is 2 million dollars supposed to do besides provide toilet paper and office supplies... I suppose it's enough to be able to say they support green/alternative energy to keep environmentalists, liberals, and leftists feeling like Obama's on the correct side, but not actually doing squat.

I can't believe you are getting stars for this ignorant statement.

If someone called Rush Limbaugh a right-wing conservative would you want proof of that also?

Deny ignorance.

I would want proof that Rush is a Conservative. All I hear from him is 100% pure hate, pot stirring and shock jocking for ratings. I don't actually hear much Conservatism from him at all.

What I want to know is why we are funding yet another solar company when the other two we've already funded went bankrupt?

What's wrong with this picture?

Because just because one company fails in a certain niche doesn't mean all do

So according to your "logic", when one social network failed, all others should have had funding pulled...because after all, how can they be profitable if one failed?

I take it you never studied basic economics?

They hired a LEGAL public relations firm

You might not like the political position of one of their employees, but if you judge companies based on that, there's many you should be appalled by. The Koch brothers for example have openly dealt with Iran (which imo is worse than claiming you're a communist), yet I doubt you stopped drinking Coca Cola or fuelling your car with oil from their refineries

So attacking that solar because they legally hired a PR firm that specializes in promoting green energies...well...it's "a bit" far fetched

Hell no. There are communists under everybody's bed. This is the problem:

Anthony "Van" Jones, a special advisor for green jobs to the Obama administration, has come under fire for his participation with the "9/11 Truth" movement, which promotes the notion that the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were an inside job by the U.S. government. Jones was on the organizing committee for a 2002 "truth" march in San Francisco, and was one of 100 notable signatories of a "9/11 Truth Statement," calling for an investigation into the terrorist attacks.

THAT is NOT to be forgiven!
