If you look at the rest of the resume, he is at Edwards now. He used to work for JT3/EG&G (perhaps Special Projects). The 99th Communications Squadron is at Nellis. Basically, he is THE radio guy.

Gee, if we could only get him to join ATS. ;-)

I see what your talking about now but something seems a little fishy to me. Why would he post that stuff on linkedin of all places. If you have that much knowledge, your not looking for a job, they are looking for you. And your right, it would be cool to have him on ATS!

If he wanted a job, why wasn't his military connections usable? I would have thought with being at enough military jobs you could get a fair job and pay from knowing the right people. Then again I could be looking at the whole thing wrongly.

On a resume, they don't like to see absences. I suppose you could put down some BS, but if a future employer finds you lied on a resume, they could fire you. What I don't get is why DET 3 just wouldn't have some fake company that you could say was your employer, and staff it with a "hello phone." [The "hello phone" is one where you don't answer with the name of the company since you might have to make up some BS name depending on who is calling. I often answered the "hello phone" to get some pitch from a salesman. I would promise to buy the junk if they could answer one question: "Who am I?" It was obvious some robo dialer did the dialing and they didn't have a clue who I was, nor where I was since the "hello phone" was on a foreign exchange.]

So you put down DET 3 on a resume...and just how does anyone verify this? Can you call the AFFTC at Edwards and verify someone worked at DET 3. Or why wouldn't you just say you worked for the AFFTC and leave it at that?

I also think that him putting his groom info on the web is probably a security violation too. Maybe not saying that he worked there, but saying what his job was there. It's all compartmentalized so even their job assignments might be classified.

So there is at least ten thousand workers at AFFTC DET 3. Now some work at Edwards North Base. But I doubt between Groom and North Base you can hold 10k workers. Edwards North Base isn't even all DET 3 to my recollection. There must be some back office at probably Wright Patterson. Or he just makes crap up since none of this can be verified. ;-)

As they say in the text books, I have left it as an exercise for the reader to find more AFFTC DET3 workers. My recollection is some astronaut had DET3 on his resume. I did look but couldn't find it.

Since the DoD has the google and the interwebs, I assume they are fine with this information on their resumes.

OK, I guess no one else knows how to use the google. Here is the astronaut, Carl E. Walz, that worked at Groom Lake.

From July 1987 to June 1990, he served as a Flight Test Manager at Detachment 3, Air Force Flight Test Center.

www.jsc.nasa.gov...

There is still one more person online with DET3 in his profile that I know of. He is currently working at "I can't say" so I think I'll not post his name since there is a chance I could run into said individual.

If those are indeed his qualifications then I can assume that he would certainly know what to omit as to keep him out of trouble.

Just because they could have top secret programs going on at those sites doesnt exactly mean that he was working on them. There is a HUGE difference between secret and top secret.

That site would be a great resource for counter intelligence, as 61% of its members are outside the US.
