Can someone provide me a link to the original article published by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. It is a pretty reputable newspaper, and has a relatively large world wide circulation for a German newspaper. In fact it is more commonly read abroad than Der Spiegel.

Already done. See my post top of first page (I am the OP) and go to the first link at bottom (i.e. FAZ.net).

Also, see my post of English translation

Thanks for your info re the German source. I didn't realize FAZ had the bigger readership of the two.

Good link! Yes, if you can stick with the general to the end of his speech, its a bit of an eye opener. Particularly informative of the kind of shennigans our leadership are engaging in, since this speech was made back in 2007. The politicians and those who pull their strings like to treat the masses (us) as if we all were a bunch of sheep-like couch potatoes with absolutely no ability to remember past our last bowl of popcorn.

Its not like the NATO bombing of Libya happened in a previous century. Or that some of us at least can't recall the invasion of Iraq. Or for that matter that quite a few of us don't remember their weapons of mass destruction/ Saddam was behind 9/11 concoction of lies they used to convince us of the legitimacy of their campaign of mass murder against the Iraqis. Because a heck of a lot of use do remember all of that, and we do not want to see anymore repeats.

I appreciate your approval and am glad you have given some of your valuable time to read it.

Its almost funny how few people are interested in a story about real world political machinations that isn't served to them by MSN.- - - I am not of course aiming this comment at you, but I suddenly felt the need to include it somewhere. With all the threads on Syria on ATS baying for the West to invade/bomb Syria, there seem to be so few who are interested in seeing the propaganda machine exposed. Come on readers post your considered opinions.

I don't know how the world can watch and tolerate this. If there is something to gain, like oil, the US is the first to send in the troops. Now children are being murdered and nothing happens.

The following is a link to an article in a Belgian newspaper. The picture says it all.
I suggest Google Translate.

Yes, I've known this for some time, they are attempting to bring the Brotherhood and Sharia and repeat Libya, and Egypt. And its the Cia, and black ops inciting the violence.

It is all about the people of the Middle East being kept under the boot of dictatorships that work for the American-Israelo Axis.

Didn't the US train and sponsor death squads in Latin and South America?

I'm not saying youre wrong, I just dont understand what's in it for the Western states. They have enough of a strategic military foothold in the area, it ranks 31st in the world for oil production lower than Columbia and they have little mineral wealth. The only reason I can see for doing this is to stick fingers up at the Russians and the Chinese and that seems a very dangerous and stupid game to play.

Maybe it's like MANOPOLY: You can't starting upping your rents until you own the whole region....

So are you saying this is all a false flag and that Assad is an innocent pawn in a bigger game?

YES!

"Following modernization, the Russian naval maintenance site in Tartus will become fully-operational," he added. The Navy maintenance site near Tartus is the only Russian foothold in the Mediterranean. Russian navy commanders have long been calling for the expansion and modernization of the Tartus base.

"The base in Tartus will provide all necessary support for the Russian warships which will be engaged in protecting commercial shipping around the Horn of Africa," the official said.

According to the Russian Navy, the naval base in Syria significantly boosts Russia's operational capability in the region because the warships based there are capable of reaching the Red Sea through the Suez Canal and the Atlantic through the Strait of Gibraltar in a matter of days.

www.globalsecurity.org...

The bigger game is ousting the Russians from their Syrian Naval base...their only base in the area, in order to clear the way for an attack on IRAN.

That's the bigger game, and as usual the CIA and others in the sickenly laughably named 'security services', don't give a toss how many innocent lives are lost to facilitate their end goal.

No one actually cares , they are happy they can watch towie
or goto the pub and watch the euros # syria and the innocents getting

Good point. And it strikes me as kind of ironic the USA, the UN, and the rest of the pack never place sanctions on Bahrain, where protestors against the regime there are also getting shot by government forces. They never throw around veiled threats of military action with talk about keeping all options on the table in reference to Bahrain. But as you note, those naval bases sure are important to the big boys. And as we know the US naval base in the region is located in, wait, yes, you guessed it, Bahrain.

This shouldn't be surprising one bit considering the fact that the religious leaders of FSA stated that killing or massacring Alawite women and children is OK, as seen in the video below:

Thanks for posting the video.
Watching that informs you on what the "free" in the Syrian Free Army means, Sunnis free of having villages of "sects" in the country.
The guy says he does not want sectarian or civil war, just to be rid of the sects. Problem is you can't do that without some sort of re-play of what happened in Bosnia.

I really wnat to know why THIS THREAD was moved from the "Breaking Alternative News" section of ATS, to the "Social Issues" section:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Is it because in the "Social Issues" section it will have "less audience", and will NOT get so much attention?

Who is trying to hide the subject of ZIONISTS HELPING HITLER TO PERPETRATE THE HOLOCAUST?

What is happening here on ATS?

You've seen the 'Danny the activist' video on YT i assume TB?

If not, just type it in and see what get's passed off as media news reporting these days.

You know Russia has it's last remaining (and recently expanded and renovated) Med Navel base in Southern Syria don't you?

You realise Russia (and China) have stated unequivocly that any military attack on Iran would be met with retaliatory military force haven't you?

You also know that Russia have got a very large bee in their bonnets about the missile sheild going up in Poland don't you.

And with all this (and a lot more besides) you still find it strange that Russia is taking the stance it is about the CIA /Mossad/MI6 staging that is going on in Syria...frankly, i find your puzzlement the really strange thing, also strange is your apparent faith in the honesty and accuracy of our western media and news outlets considering the amount of MP's and corporate types being quized at the moment in the Levenson inquiry, about an obvious lack of honesty from our media!

The BBC toes the establishment line, obviously.

So too does the US corporate media.

A single source telling the world of what their reporters have witnessed on the ground in Syria has to be wrong or lying in your opinion because they are a Socialist organisation? How does it work that they have an agenda based on ideology, when you don't seem to see the same problems is true of media outlets reporting what our establishment tells them to report?

What's good for the goose and all that mate.

Did i mention the 'Danny' video clips....

PANOPOLY:
[pan-OP-olly]
noun Absolute Imperial control over a continent, or large group of geographies and countries.
(usage) 1. The USA aims for a PANOPOLY over the middle east.
history: In the game Monopoly, the person who owns the entire board forces the other players into bankruptcy and debt.

Credit to Tallone, this word can now assume the common usage it deserves.

The last mainstream news Syrian interview I seen was a guy with an injured son that looked needy. If you followed his eyes he was obviously reading from a script. If you knew what was going on in your country and was talking about it to a reporter you wouldn't need a script.
