This is life,
The drama of our time.
This is our moment,
For all of mankind.

War in the streets,
Told what we can and cannot think.
Someone else's children, bleeding, dying,
Videos, pictures, reports and statistics... we do not blink.

Pound for pound is the body count,
Like meat for the dogs of war.
A kiss from Judas, betraying their own children,
Who are we fighting for?

Hatred and Greed the all to familiar feeling,
The vote is reserved for those with cash in the hand.
Who is my Mother, who is my Brother,
Blood spilled on American Land.

And THIS is your reason, and THIS is your friend,
And the death that you're dealing is just a means to the end.
And the lies that you're selling are as good as the truth,
The victory you seek is for every knee to bend.

Pound for pound is the body count,
Like meat for the dogs of war.
A kiss from Judas, betraying your own children,
Who are you fighting for?

This sooo needs an acoustic guitar in the background to accompany this. It could very easily be a song.

You have a gift, you seem to be able to write straight from the heart.

Oh, and this one didn't break my brain

Return salvo:

Betrayal runs deep in this race,
most are forsaken, and
left in disgrace.

Pity, once,
was honorable to me,
but this life I lead is hollow I see.

Hollow as a kiss with no meaning,
as shallow as the heart with no feeling.

Greed, the seed, that grows thistles and thorns,
yet I'm told not to separate
the wheat from the tares,
but I want to, being one,
and someone who cares.
