Since this is a conspiracy website, i'll take a WAG that the Chinese with their 'copy n paste' proficiency made them for dirt cheap price and sold it to the rebels

Not directly I suppose. Its after a big business (illegal arms sale). Either way they will benefit from the entire syrian thing.
