I did notice the "" sign, only after i looked at the photo. I never noticed it while i was there.
Good catch

Thank you so much for the tag, truly appreciated!

I get what you were feeling. The day i took the photo i never realized it would have more of an impact on me when i scrolled through my photos later on. When i saw the penguin and took the photo at that time, i was sad, angry, and as if i could feel its longing for freedom, but i walked away & only with a heavy heart. But, later that night when i went through my photos for the day it tore a piece out of my heart and soul.

I decided to share my photo to see if others would have the same reaction. I was thinking i am just being too emotional. But, i have now seen on this thread how it touched most people.

I am proud of my photo, i will not deny this. It speaks to me, and hopefully to others as well. But, it is still a very sad photo and when i look at it, it makes me love & appreciate what we have been given in this life so much more.

It is heartbreaking, to me. I can understand when we have to interfere to save a specie. Still, it is our fault that some animals are close to extinction. Unfortunately not everyone cares.

I think any wild animal would prefer freedom, no matter what they have to face everyday. That is nature, and they understand it better than we do. They know they have to deal with certain risks everyday.

Would i prefer to be behind bars, locked up, get three meals a day or face freedom with all the risks of everyday life? I'd rather die a free man. That would be my choice.

Peace & love!

That is so heart-wrenching.

This is why I never go to zoos or aquariums if I can help it, though there are the occasional field trips. It's just so depressing to see the animals all cooped up. Call me crazy but I I can actually feel their despair. They often can be seen engaging in repetitive behaviors that are associated with boredom and depression in animals.

It's just wrong.

We should be preserving natural habitats and establishing/endouraging nature preserves for the more endangered animals. With T.V. and the internet that can be used for educational purposes, there is just no good reason for a zoo or an aquarium in 2012.

Anything that might be learned is skewed by the effects of captivity and if we want to help species breed, etc I'm sure they would be far more productive in the wild. Or just breed in captivity and release into their natural habitat.

I believe it is all because of compassion and it showed me how many people actually do care about earth.

The photo spoke volumes to me, hence why i shared it.

If we can start to love and respect the smallest of things in nature, we will become better as a human race.

Love wins wars.

Yea too bad Peta uses porn images of BDSM to promote humane treatment, what hypocrisy

because it's NOT just animals, in fact, millions of Females have less rights than Animals, are treated Worse than animals, and in America

a female has less rights to Self Defense against abuse--our prisons are FULL OF THESE FEMALES,

but oh, where's the compassion Then? I'm sorry but this crap just pisses me the hell off....because the oppression of NATURE AND ANIMALS IS THE OPPRESSION OF

take a hard look at This, then see how compassionate and Sorrowful you feel--because Truth of the matter is, PETA glorifies this crap--the courts glorify this crap by sentencing women [including yes hoarders who DO need help--to horrible abuses and force drugging but OH HAVE WE FORGOTTEN THE BIG PHARMA AND THEIR DRUG TORTURE TESTS ON 'ANIMALS'? And let's not Even begin with the whole Beauty Porn Rape Culture industry--how Those products were for DECADES AND STILL ARE tested via TORTURE OF ANIMALS,

someone here mentioned Tourists...yea, Tourists, those same Tourists who see not a problem paying to RAPE this small girl and MILLIONS, NOT HUNDREDS, BUT MILLIONS MORE LIKE HER

who Also look beyond glass doors [if they Even get that much] and are NOT cared for, other than being tortured and gang raped Repeatedly because

oh my gosh humans [males mostly] why it's their ENTITLEMENT AND RIGHTS

and dare any Female get in their way...

and the Ironic thing is, ANIMALS DON'T DO THIS CRAP TO THEIR OWN...

[above brothel India, trafficked sex slave ANIMALS]

an Animal Female would KILL to protect HER young

and more and more Female human animals WON'T EVEN SPEAK UP FOR THEIR OWN KIND

but will do more to assist the butchers, rapers and other 'animals'

and then DARE to claim a Respect for MOTHER NATURE AND THE FEMALE ANIMAL

what an Insult to the Goddess, seriously

as a Voice, let me say, yes I am saddened by the photo of the Penguin,

at the Horrible INDIFFERENCE to worse images and Hell Realities

starting in our own's Hypocrisy at it's Worst when

Human Animals are not only ganged raped, raped, tortured, filmed for male entertainment via Porn [and PETA sales] starved,

hell they aren't even KEPT IN NICE CLEAN ZOOS

they don't even GET THAT.

think about it

That is a very emotional photo. I know they're "well taken care of", but separation from their specie (even though they might have 5-10 other penguins in their pen) is unforgivable. It's not right to take a social creature like a penguin and keep him locked up, no matter how lavish the decorations and meals are.

I do not have any idea as to why you are ranting here.

First of all, as i said, humans come before any animal. This is a photo i took and decided to share it.

Another thing, you are feminist, an angry one at that.

I, as a man suffer just as much as any woman when times are hard. There is an anti-fem thread going around here, go throw your toys on that thread.

I have a daughter, and i will fight just as hard for her as i will for my son. Man and woman are equal in my eyes.

To quote you, "THINK ABOUT IT" the next time when you throw a rant on a thread which had nothing to do with demoralizing ANY human.
