Maybe this is what Obama meant about being able to do more after he is re elected. He can send them some new Helicopters to replace those and re arm the USSR.

the question is , are they going to be piloted buy Russian , or Syrians ? , i believe during the Georgia conflict , the way Russia got away with it , was to have "contracted pilots "

I guess that all that is needed is for China to be accused of supplying arms and that will allow US/NATO intervention.

Russia has been supplying Syria with arms for a long time. Most Middle Eastern countries use Russian equipment in their militaries. There's nothing new about this, except the timing with all the fighting going on right now.

Russia has been Syria's main arms supllier for decades. How is this any different than a routine shipment of purchased equipment?

Ok,so when the aircraft open fire on civilians,the debate will end.No outside terrorists have gunships,no rebels have them,so that would be the linchpin for a UN mandate that it is in fact the Syrian government behind the massacres not terrorists.Thus giving TPTB their start on WW III.

We should just get this party started....hell we already got the vets comin back fresh off the war train...its not like Russia where its been a while for them. We have had lots of good war experience to get this thing goin quickly.

What if Russia was supplying weapon in Canada
to foreign terrorist group and local terrorist sleeping cells to remove the regime in place
and there is a civil war going on in the country for more then a yrs because of that

Pretty sure the USA would send attack helicopters and help their ally (harpers government)
and would have helped from the start and probably go to war
if they found who is behind this war paying for all these weapons and foreign mercs
arriving from all neighboor country just to kill to make it look like Harper did it

By sending those military helicopters ..
Russia just declared war on those terrorists that wants to topple Assad
having such chaos near their border is a risk for their national security
and will help Assad and Iran if anyone dare to intervene
China probably waits until Putin give the orders when the time comes to go against the USA

The USA took a big risks to arms and organise this undercover war in Syria
Russia and China will make the US and Israel pay for bringing
such chaos and mass murder near their border

They wanted to be sure about their inteligence on the Syria situation
pretty sure by now Russia or China knows who has been organising this undercover war

You though the cold war was cold ? must be pretty cold right about now ..

So lets do this. Maybe it's time for the US to mobilize its reserve fleet (70 ships), refit the mothballed fleet (with its' several carriers), pull our thousand M113s out of storage to go with our 6,000+ Bradleys and Abrams, activate the reserve army, call up the inactive reserves, institute the draft, put ship and weapons construction on 24 hour shifts, double our efforts on the black projects, get the space planes back into orbit with their secret payloads, and settle this sh** once and for all. Maybe we'll get lucky and have a few allies help out.

The war to end all wars. Don't stop until China and Russia can't feed themselves without a handout. Then get ruthless.

OK point of original post was to highlight the US/NATO way to circle round UN policy.

The US/NATO forces could face combined might of IRAN RUSSIA and CHINA. Three of the most partisan nations you could meet on the battlefield.

I was not really being serious. Our already abused troops don't need anymore war.

It would cost a bundle. Though in a total war money doesn't mean too much. Every person is put to work in support of the war effort, they are rationed food and energy. There is no luxury. The US wasn't even in a total war mode during WWII. The UK and Germany were. Every resource was 100% devoted to war.

All that said, so long as it is unclear who is top dog, then the contenders will play the dangerous game of posturing that may well lead to having to find out who is the most powerful. In such a scenario I will root for my own country.
