If you are actually paying for healthcare, which I'm sure most of you are, this would be a hot topic.

But it's not. Why? Ignorance? You are going to pay for this. Either by la la la same thing different day la la la... It's your tax dollars! If you wake up and decide that its too imperial for you, you get fined. Yes, fined!

I'm sure you're thinking at this point. "oh litterbaux, you're just crazy! How can they enforce these fines. They can't be watching everyone, give me a break!"

Now for the reality of it.

Companies will pay the small fine for not covering the individuals.

I hope you don't need healthcare, once it's their decision and their pocketbook to decide if you die or not.....

This is when UK seems like a nice place ... Free Healthcare ... Well not free, we still pay for it through our taxes. But you know what I mean.

I've heard from friends and family that healthcare already is so expensive in USA and getting a job with a good healthcare package is a must.

It's expensive because it's a free market. I pay a lot for my healthcare but I can walk in to any clinic and get service within 20 minutes.

I'll pay 20 bucks and be out the door with a prescription for my ailments in 20 to 60 minutes.

I don't know about the UK but in Canada they also have a socialized healthcare system and most of the time I've heard its great. I've also heard many stories of wait lines, for hours.

I'm not better than anyone else, I just think you should tend to the productive citizen before you tend to the chronic patient. Free market healthcare solves that problem.

If you work, you pay for healthcare. Don't force my tax money into a socialist healthcare system which will eventually absolve me.

It is expensive because you are all being ripped off. Big Pharma = big profit = rip off.

The world is not a nice place. What would it be like if Big Pharma = MR & Mrs nice guy!

I don't think you know what this word "free" means - it should mean that the prices DROP, as long as there is more offering than need. Seems to me that there is more need, so there SHOULD be more competitors. Do you know why there aren't more competitors in the health insurance sector?

Maybe because it is not very free? Monopols, anyone?

I agree with you. I live in Canada, and when me or my loved ones get sick, no need to worry about breaking the bank (of course the taxes are much more than Americans) to get healthy again. But the whole wait 20 minutes at any clinic is off for us. We got about a 2 - 3 hour wait, depending on the urgency of your ailment. Still though, from invasive surgeries to minor colds, all fixed without a penny out of pocket!

That's why I am against PM Harper here is Canada! He is trying to cut the budgets on useful programs and socially enabling departments and trying to build up the military up here. He says he wants to spend 30 billion dollars on state of the art war birds, but doesn't tell us that to house and transport them (aircraft carrier) will cost about 100 billion dollars. Take that money and spend it on healthcare, education, infrastructure, roads, environmental (yeah right) needs instead.
