They are just trying to drum up votes by making white people feel like they are racists.

Right?

Hmm. I'd say maybe 5% of the conservatives opposed to Obama are so because of race. The rest, much like everyone else, hates him because he's a liar and a horrible president.

But you can't ignore the 5% that hated him before he had a chance to be a liar and a horrible president.

But yeah, that's pretty crazy considering his record, to assume everyone or the majority of people who dislike him, are basing it on race.

If I was an american and voted in that election, I would have voted for Obama too. Nothing to do with his race, it was more about the promises he made. Sure, all politicians made promises, but they usually follow through on one or two of them while ignoring the majority. I figured if he even came through on 1 of them it would be a good thing.

Yeah facepalm.

He is a horrible president and I would be voting against him if I had the chance, but it has nothing to do with race, or where he was born, or who he hung out with in college. It's about his actions, once in office.

Racism exists. Obama is black. It's a given that some racists hate him because they are racists.

But this slick and cool president has managed to do something only a country in the middle east was able to do.

Make any and all criticism racism.

But Obama is white

Thank you....Had to read before I posted the same.Everyone tends to forget he's 1/2 and 1/2

So if blacks don't like him, are they also racist ?????? Amazing how people in general are always looking for SOME excuse to push ahead in life.

We all have the same tools at our disposal.....what we do with them is up to us and the people who guide us in life as children

Gawd I do love a narrow oblivious mind that proceeds to project their own insecurity back into the public in order for them to feel justified for their skin color as if they still have something to prove in the physical sense.

Yessir....people are wetoddit.....what? Im racist for saying theyre wetoddit?

Come on you people.......what do I mean by you people? Come on thats not racist.....

Ok new idea....lets invent another laungage that all the reverse racist people dont speak....

You know why they call it reverse racism? Because he whom participates in it is moving backwards.......

Glad to see we have learned sooooo much in the last what? 50 years?

Presumably millions of white people voted for Obama in order for him to win in the first place.

Now that they are less than happy with what they got and are thinking of changing their vote they are labeled racists.

Pathetic.

And I think that is the exact opposite of how some people hope you will respond to accusations of racism, for daring to disagree with Obama.

They( Who ever they are) want people to be afraid of being labelled as racist, if they disagree with Obama...And if people are afraid of that, they may be less likely to speak out against him...

That is what it comes across as to me, at times.... An attempt to silence opposition through fear....

Wait, that almost sounds like terrorism... Hmmmm...

TERRORISM

1. The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
2. The state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

There is nothing sadder than watching them beat this dead horse. The Race Card is played out. The desperation is obvious.

The longer they play this card the less his chances of being re-elected, don't discourage them.
lol

To most of us, Obama is simply the president, but to many Obama supporters, he is a "black president." Who are the real racists?

I can think of one thing that is sadder.....those who still support him and think he's actually done a good job.

Racism is irrational.

Following a political figure based soley on the melanin content of his skin is irrational.

(only two dots, easy to connect)

Gonna steal what you said here. If 5% voted against him just because of his race then the question becomes, How many people voted "For" him just because of his race? I think it more than evens out.

“I can't say to all the people that are unhappy with him that they're racist people,” Lee said of Obama’s critics. “People ain't got jobs, people are hurting. So I don't care what color you are, if people are out of work, it's tough. And then when you're the first African American president, that's not helping either.”

Everyone seems to be missing the point. It's not that disagreeing with him is racist, it's that you disagree with him because you're racist.

His policies are perfect! All hail Obama! You can't possibly form a rational opposition to any of his stances because they are all divine.. so you must be a racist. No other way to explain it.

Super weak argument and totally pulling the race card, so I hope people can see through these shenanigans.
Seriously doubt it though.

Edit: not to say there aren't opposition racists because I suspect there are a few.

Great call Domo, Stag and Flar again. I figure this thread will lengthen
to the point you can weave a brand new sheet anyway, forget the mustard:
oh wait, only a racist has mustard on a bacon infested cheeseburger.
Acidicated artificial cheddar materials turn house pets into conservatives.
No really, this is so over the top it almost surpasses the widest Trotskyite
brush yet with the APA pretty much calling anyone who mistrusts the
federal gummymint mentally ill. I wonder if a 9% approval rating of Congress
at large lately is the perfect setting for a blue flu inoculation mandate....
"Julian Bond for whatever office he wants." And I'm a transplanted extremely
white haired East German Ashkenozzle with a quarter each Welsh and Swede.
And I'm not even sure if our former US Congressman is conservative enough;
but my lineage is making the urge to crack open a vat of Old Pinch very tough
right now with THIS headline turned headache. Thanks anyway you resourceful
baconmonger.. and the melted cheese DOES make the ponderous parcel of
luscious hogback stay on better! snort-snort huah.

this is probably the dumbest thing i'll ever say on ATS, so i'll go the whole distance..

they could elect a black person as president every year and do whatever they want.

ok i'm done.

Of course it's racist!! How could you not fawn over this fine specimen that is the country's president? I mean what's not to love? And if you disagree with me, you are a racist homophobe. See how easy that was?
