Russia’s new Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky believes the body of the Bolshevik Revolution leader – Vladimir Lenin – should be committed to the ground, while the Mausoleum should become a museum.
Medinsky pointed out that in his opinion, every person should be laid to rest as it has been the rule since the beginning of time. rt.com...

I couldn’t agree more, although I think the Mausoleum could better serve as a Fast Food shop (it would be appreciated by with hungry tourists, and what better way, to describe today's legacy of Lenin’s forced communism, in Russia?)
However if it must be a museum, will it include the stories of the tens of thousands he killed simply for believing in God?
Or how about the political prisoners he killed for believing what 70 years later was proven (i.e. communism is wrong).
Or will it be dedicated only to his achievements? (Like landing Stalin in power -no matter how unintentional).

Alternatively…
Is Moscow expanding its sewage pipe system?
If there are any sewage pipes, scheduled to go under a church, then that would be the perfect to bury Lenin.
I'm a believer in democracy, so think the people of Russia should be consulted where he should be buried. If this option was included I'm sure it would win (either that or a nuclear waste dump, or hole by the side of the road as somebody else on RT said).
In a way it's good to bury Lenin, as that will reduce the number of diseases transmitted by people who still kiss his coffin.

When was that proven exactly?

And how are you enjoying Late Capitalism?

edit- What was the point of this post? Morbid McCarthyist humour?

Communism is dead.
Lenin is dead.

Only Germanicus and Obama was to re-animate it.

Interesting thead.

The symbolism of burying communism would be awesome!

I think the decision should be made by any family he may have alive and according to his faith.

Regardless of whomever the dead person is and what they have done in life, I believe they have the right to rest in peace without making a socio-political mockery of it.

Adding communism or whatever into the situation shows a lack of respect for the dead by us, the living, then anything else.

Religion? You are kidding, right? Lenin was a communist, a godless communist. His faith was in communism.

Communism is dead, as is he. Russia is no longer communist, he should be buried.

Errrr. . . . . not so much.

No.

Speaking as an old timer who remembers when we weren't so huggy-kissy with Russia (USSR) I'd just like to see that "symbol" taking a dirt nap.

RIP

Actually Lenin was a Marxist. It's a little bit different than the standard definition of communism.

Sure, he was an atheist, but his family was Russian Orthodox. I am simply trying to say that his family should be the one to make this sort of decision.

Your personal feelings, or other's, towards Lenin or communism/Marxism should have no bearing whatsoever on what is done with his body.

Am I the only one here that thinks this is common sense?

His remains have been a symbol for 70+ years.

It's not just a "body" or "remains".

In my humble opinion.

As much as i dislike the man - he should be buried. As his relatives wanted after he died. But in Communism workers and peasants decide all ,and so worker and peasant Stalin decided that Lenin mummy is needed to better brainwash the comrades.
Stalin was also a mummy ,sharing the same appartment with Lenin for a very short time, but then different workers and peasants who decide all (Khrushchev) decided to pull him out because different brainwashing was needed.
Isn't Communism better then late Capitalism due to its morbid interest in dead leaders? And i do not mention glorious ideas of Juche and the undead eternal president.

Germanicus When was that proven exactly?

It might have been when the Berlin Wall came down.
It might have been earlier.
Look at this death list for example. All the capitalist dictators have puny death toll’s in comparison with the Communist ones (Chair Man Mao is a record breaker, at between 49 and 78 million of China 1.3 billion population)
www.scaruffi.com...
Why might this be? I guess dictators (on average) aspire to oppress people equally, for their own Selfish ends. However under Communist dictatorships they have a lot more oppression to do, because people are a lot less content.

The fact North Korea is the only one still (seriously) trying communism, speaks for itself. As does the fact there have been almost no communist democracies in history (i.e. because they get thrown out again, by the people)

And how are you enjoying Late Capitalism?
If you’ve been living in the US over the last 30 years, chances are you’ve only ever known a corporate dictatorship, mixed with capitalism, whilst trying to market itself as demonocracy.

However just because something has serious faults, doesn’t mean hell, doesn’t have even more.
Capitalism mixed with a degree of socialism (i.e. free high quality education, emergency welfare, and healthcare coverage) are ideal –not that I approve of Obama Care –I don’t. I advocate the NHS instead because it delivers far more on average, whilst being literally twice as affordable www.guardian.co.uk...

But the UK government hasn’t done it, by getting the NHS to do everything. Rather it has got it, by getting the NHS to employ the private sector wherever it’s cheaper. We don’t order people who show talent as nurses-doctors to be them, we just offer apprentices & visa’s to those who want to be them.

And whilst the government can the run the NHS, better than the 100% private US, it probably wouldn’t be a quarter as confident if it had to run the entire economy, top to bottom. This is the main reason why Communism delivered massive growth when Russia was poor, and then growth stagnated i.e. because it all became too much for bureaucrats in Gosplan to manage. Even under capitalism, there is a limit to how big a single company can become, before it starts becoming less efficient than it’s rivals –even in spite of economies of scale.

For this reason (and others), capitalism, mixed with a degree of socialism, is most ideal.

Not that I like-d the man, but, what made you go out of your way to come here and bash a dead guy?

I also see you taking stance on others nations political affairs, how is that working out? I guess it ties with the OP right?

Juanxlink Not that I like-d the man, but, what made you go out of your way to come here and bash a dead guy?
He's a famous dictator –famous (in part) for murdering people of religious faith, thereby proving atheists can be just as bad, as any religious fanatic.

I also see you taking stance on others nations political affairs, how is that working out? I guess it ties with the OP right?
So you are so small-minded, that you don’t have any thoughts, any opinion, or any stands on other nations affairs yourself?
If so, great for you. Hell, it’s because of people like this, I don’t believe voting should be compulsory! However…

I do have thoughts & therefore stands on other nation’s affairs, myself. I like sharing these (partly so others share theirs two). There’s nothing wrong with this! In fact I’d say you’re on the wrong website, if you think there is!!! As to regards “how it’s working out”? Well it’s not like I vote in other countries, or it would make much difference (e.g. in the US, or Russia). That said: It’s always healthy voting for minor parties, that’s 1 why other people vote for them too, and that’s how democratic competition –the free competition of ideas can flourish.

I’d like to wish you good luck in putting others of from discussing international affairs, but really I can’t.
Now go and eat some jam donuts, they’ve got sugar, and white bread in them – never know, might be good for the brain (eat what you are, and all!).
