My gosh people. Get over the music and movies with "hidden messages." Isn't it easy to understand that they put them there to pique your interest and get your talking about them? It's called trolling, and some people get paid good money to do it.

Ok. I'm all for looking to find a deeper meaning to the images and videos that we are exposed to but I honestly feel that Nelly Furtado's music video for Big Hoops does not foretell of a Major World Event. I know a lot of people are focusing on the "all seeing eye" symbolism and I think that's exactly the only purpose for her using it, to get your attention, and now that she has it guess what the new trending topic will be... "Nelly Furtado Illuminati".

I'm sorry to say I believe that we are all just victims of smart advertising from a director who obviously has a decent amount of knowledge about pop culture.

Aside from that I think the OP just saw the "all seeing eye" and just figured there would be more symbolism in the video and obviously members on ATS are going to tear the video apart looking for them, only for him to come back later and just repeat everything that everybody else believes they saw.

I for one will not waste my time playing a guessing game while the author of this post just sits back gathering ideas instead of actually contributing any substance to the discussion.

i think it safe to say that the majority of the posters in this thread agree there is indeed symbolism in the video.
but there is just one thing that i have yet to see any one say.

how can any other than the ones who the message was intended for know what the meaning is.

without a cipher there's no way to tell. and ciphers can change from day to day. maybe not the symbols, but the order in which they appear.

With the Olympics being in the UK, let's use the UK date format of Day/Month instead of the US of Month/Day. So 108 either becomes 10/8 = 10th August or 1/08 = 1st August. Which of these two seems more likely? Both dates are suitable, so I cannot call one or the other.

You've got to be kidding me. That's the best explanation you could think of. She looks shocked because she's seeing an event she never saw before??! So there's NO way she could be making that expression because a random woman probably 10 feet taller than her is walking by. No couldn't be that, it without a doubt means a huge world event is happening....Try again please

I really like the way Rubinstein has been handling this thread - subjected to endless criticism, yet not getting side tracked by 'on the side bickering' and getting involved in personal attacks.
The point of the thread was clearly to hear what people had to say about their own personal interpretation of the video after which he would present his own (interpretation) at the end. Great job man!!!

As to what I see. I haven't read everyone's remarks, but I noticed the shop with the "108" address, which would be August 10 (during the Olympics). I also noticed the background when she is dancing of what looks like an explosion. Also, I believe the city is Los Angeles as the tall tower is the U.S. Bank Tower (formerly the Library Tower).

The Native Americans dancing could reference the Mayan calendar or, as some early members suggested, a Phoenix.

"Oh I thought this song was over No, it ain't over yet"

Just as the song is about to speed right up, she says the words above. Then the song gets crazy and Nelly starts growing rapidly until she's eventually larger than the buildings.

What does this mean? Thoughout the video Tall Nelly has been representing the event, so when she starts to rapidly grow, this means the event is growing, becoming larger and having a greater reach.

If for example, Tall Nelly had been representing the 9/11 attacks, then when she grew incredibly big this would have meant many more similar attacks around the world or a much bigger attack e.g. nuclear.

Let's say for example, that on 1st August or 10th August at the London Olympics, there is a False Flag Bird Flu release, blamed on Iran, it would start off in a small area and then eventually get everywhere in the globe; killing millions

The color yellow represents greed, jealousy, sickness and cowardice.

So in other words the war or terror comes fast and strong and it’s over money, power, jealousy.

As for the rings which represents the Olympics, is it because this is were it my all begin or are the rings a symbol for the Olympics because it represents all the nations that take place in the Olympics? Do all the nations get involved in the (war or revolution)?

Everything bigger is better can stand for the government, or one world government. The all seeing eye. The rise in government control.

Then at the end flashes stop and everything slows down. She says it not over yet. My interpretation is the war takes a turn . The colors change to white and black. She is dress more conservative. Ying and Yang, good and bad or opposites. `

There is a transformation or change in society as a whole. Society as a whole raises up from the ashes as towers above all materialistic ways. You see this when she towers above the city as if rising from a kneeling position. She moves slower as in life has slowed down and the pace has changed It has a calmer feeling to it. She has transformed.

The indestructible spirit lives on and everything is in harmony with each other. As the women at the end dressed in Indian attire is in circled by all the rings or other words countries. She looks peaceful. No tension noted.

I have enjoyed analyzing the story line to this video, for it is art and we all see art different.

But honestly Ruben has contributed very little compared to the wealth of information and theories given by others. It was 20+ pages before we got like 10 posts of 1 sentence each reiterating what otbers already said. Kind of a dud if you ask me.
