Why Do 'Straight' Guys Hit on Trannies ?

Firstly I would like to clear up any confusion around the term Tranny. By this I mean Transgender (TG), which includes Transvestites, Cross Dressers, Pre and Post Op Transsexuals, Drag Queens and so on. Go to Wiki if you want to get the low-down on all the sub-classifications.

en.wikipedia.org....

A few years ago I had a wacky girlfriend who liked to dress me up in her clothes. She had a lot of wigs too so it was easy to achieve the whole Drag Queen effect. I thought it was a bit of good clean fun - she had some pretty groovy outfits. It wasn’t really a sexually stimulating activity for me or for her (ie we did not do this as foreplay to sex or in love making role-play).

As a prank I thought I would go to one of my friend’s birthday parties dressed like Ginger from Gilligan's Island. It was a beach party and the middle of summer. I wore a stuffed bikini top and a short sari skirt (for obvious reasons). My wig was just like Ginger's hairstyle. My girlfriend did the make-up so I looked quite glamorous - something like this :-

I sauntered in to the party by myself (my girlfriend didn't like my friends), carrying an esky (cooler) full of beer and with a sultry look on my face. Well you could have heard a pin drop. I have never seen so many chins hit the ground all at once. I noticed some of my mates do a double take, trying hard to work out if it was 'me' in the get-up. Once they did recognize me, the laughter started and things cooled down a bit. There were a lot of people at the party that I didn't know so it was a bit confronting for me and for them. I was getting a lot of leering glances.

A few hours on, and with much alcohol consumed, everyone was in the mood to party. It was then that many guys started to hit on me. My bum was getting pinched a lot and my fake boobs continually being groped at. I was a bit drunk myself but still lucid enough to know that something really strange was happening. I was turning these guys on. Some of them were close supposedly straight friends. It finally got to the point where I had had enough of the harassment so I took my wig off and removed my make-up. I had often seen straight guys chatting up the drag queens in the dance clubs on a week-end, but now I had experienced this sexual flirtation first hand.

So my question is this. Why do some men (mostly those who would consider themselves to be straight) get so turned on by transgender people?

Could it be latent homosexuality?

Could there be an anomaly in man's psyche. ie - the man is turned on by the feminine features, although subconsciously he knows it is a male body ?

Could the physical combination of masculine and feminine in the transgender person, be triggering something that's been hidden in our DNA?

Is it just the mystery of having both male and female sexuality in the one person?

Is sexual attraction and/or the yearning for physical intimacy much more complex than what our social norms perceive it to be? ie - we are just sexual beings attracted to other sexual beings.

For you guys – have a look at this image and tell me your thoughts. Sorry didn’t mean to exclude women, but from my research it seems like that this is pretty much just a guy thing going on. If you are a TG person I'd like to hear your opinions too, as it is common for TG's to form relationships with each other.

Before I sign off I should disclose how I feel personally when I look at a Transgender person, either an image or in the flesh. I do feel some sexual arousal when I see what I consider to be a beautiful TG person. I have not however been sexually intimate with a TG person in this life time. If I had to guess as to why I feel this way, I would say that it’s the androgynous aspect of this person that I find alluring, and this feeling is accessed through my sexuality, because there is no other social norm or function to help me process this.

For those who might think that this issue is only for the perverted minority, then I would draw your attention to the fact that many well known ‘straight’ men have been caught with TG’s unwittingly, such as the comedian Eddie Murphy and famous soccer player Ronaldo.

Peace Out

Because homsexual tendancies are more of a social hiarchical thing than a sexual thing. In most mammals that is. Straight men, are'nt fully straight.

I think that men aren't attracted to TG per say but they're attracted to the women that they see. They see a woman not knowing that the woman is a man.

Yes, of course that does happen - see the movie 'Crying Game'. What I'm referring to is men who knowingly behave this way - such as in my personal story. There are also many men who choose to seek sexual contact or form relationships with transgender people.

I would suppose that a man might desire to be with a transgender 'woman' so as to have a homosexual experience without it being a 'homosexual experience', if you know what I mean. True, if you don't know that it's a man, the initial feeling is desire for a beautiful woman. But, if you know that it's a man, then I assume that you want the experience without it being 'homosexual'.

Very interesting take on the subject OP.

I'd say it's less likely that any of your friends are actually "half-bisexual" and more likely that they consumed alcohol and wanted personal contact.

You appeared female enough in their eyes for them to get some degree of enjoyment out of it and they also knew they wouldn't run in to any trouble for what would otherwise be considered some real blatant sexual harassment.

That's a valid point I guess, but does seem a bit twisted. It would be a way for some men to test the water so to speak before experimenting with a 'man'.

The more I think about this subject, the more it becomes apparent that human sexuality is far more complex than what people think.

Just listened to Pamela Stephensons audiobook 'Sex Life' - it's so good at normalising what modern society would declare as sexual perverse behaviour.

Except that a transgender woman IS actually a woman. A drag queen is a man, in a dress. They will tell you the same. There is a big difference between a transgender woman and a drag queen. Mainly being, the former is a woman, the latter is not.

Are you sure your mates just weren't just messing with ya, you know goofing off without including you in the joke? It was a party after all.

But yeah some trannies can be pretty dang hot...

It depends if you were a good or bad tranny in the gender illusion you created.

If you're a bad tranny. the other guys were probably just joking, and encouraging you to return to the male gender by giving you a taste of what male interest can be like in excess.

If you were a truly sexy tranny ... well ... a lot of guys are bi-curious, although it's always strongly denied, and a tranny is one way to explore that without feeling totally gay (since there's the clothing and markers of the female gender).
What's worse in that case is that your female best friends suddenly become total cows, and see you as competition!

Our computer expert says he was recently on a ship to do some work on their pcs, and he says all their porn was of trannies with boobs and the male tackle!

It surprises some people, but a lot of trannies know that a lot of guys secretly like that.
Just look at the lady-boys in Thailand - and it's not gay men who go to them.

There was some goofing off to start with, but then it got serious and I felt sexually harassed.

Thanks for the pics - for some here on ATS I'm sure it's a real eye opener.

There was a reality TV show on a while ago too - can't remember the name of it, where several guys where trying to compete for the heart of a 'female' model, not knowing that she was a Transgender model.

Peace Out

Forbidden fruit. A yearning for something that some in our society don't see as normal. I think it's more prevalent than most will admit to. When I lived in the San Fran Bay Area, many years ago, I had a few wonderful Tranny friends. They told me that married men were the ones who hit on them the most.

Interesting thread OP...S%&F....

Case of mistaken identity, especially easy when one has lost their inhibitions (like in a party/club atmosphere). Most of the time anyway.

I don't doubt that there are some that might actually have some deep-seeded desire to explore it though, and some that just don't care at all (or are openly aroused by it). But, as it stands, if you show them your junk or tell them you were once a man or something, most would react negatively.

We had one that would come to our navy base , you could not tell it was a guy unless you reached downstairs and came up with a tree trunk . She , he , it got pounded out one night by seducing the wrong touchy feely sailor who did not like tree trunks were there should have been the opposite. It was kinda of funny to watch it occur .

Thanks for the comments.

I think I looked pretty hot so was probably in the good tranny category - my girlfriend thought so anyway.

There was another time when I hosted a party of my own and it was a T party (I was still with the same girlfriend). Meaning you had to come as something starting with T. Of course you know what I did.

I dressed up as Kylie Minogue and sung one of her songs in true Drag Queen style. My best mate was there and he was really confused - didn't know how to react to my feminine beauty. It got a bit weird too later in the night when my girlfriend and I got caught making out. A disgruntled male at the party said that the only guy that was getting lucky was a chick.

I think you completely misunderstood their actions. You might have been a little vain even - thinking they were actually making sexual advances.

Was it inappropriate behavior? Yes, but I think the major of them were just making a perverted joke that was derived from sexual curiosity that turned into mixed emotions that turned into understanding and then turned into something they found to be humorous. They then acted humorous towards you to return the joke.

Think of it like this: You tell a joke to someone and in the joke they are the brunt of the joke. They do not understand it at first but when they catch on they laugh and say "you mother f'er, ha ha ha ha". In this example, they aren't really being rude to you - they are just matching your humor with their own humor. They are making a joke because they are coming to terms with their new understanding and they find the understanding to be humorous. That's all man.

eta: to make it clear, them groping you was them accepting you after you confused the S out of them.
