Perhaps not officially but....

but doesn't it see a little odd that Rand wouldn't support his father?

Want to place a small wager that Ron will fall in line with the GOP next week?

And your point was not missed by the Romney campaign. The birther issue favors Obama. Rubio cuts the legs out from under the birthers, which helps Romney, not Obama.

Tactically speaking, that's an excellent strategy.

Romney is so dull however, I bet he goes with Mitch Daniels. The GOP learned in 2008 that the Veep pick can't out-perform the candidate himself.

Christie - more powerful than Romney
Ryan - smarter than Romney
Jindal - LoL!
Rubio - more charisma than Romney

BTW, the correct term is Latino. You may want to clue your insider into that so he can clue Romney. LOL! It's kind of amusing that a GOP insider is using that term. It speaks volumes and shows how out of touch with that community they really are.

Only if you have never paid any attention to Rand Paul prior to a few days ago, and didnt know anything about his actual voting record.

Again, Rand Paul is not a tiny, young Ron Paul. They are different people, with different political ideas.

Absolutely. I will bet you 3 million internet points that does not transpire, and never will.

All those reasons are stellar! But why would Rubio accept it? That is the real question.

Rubio is already immensely popular, and he is already looking ahead to 2016. If he doesn't take the VP slot, he can still participate in the campaign, take leadership roles in the party, and also keep his Tea Party connections and an arm's length relationship with Romney in case Romney flops.

As VP, Rubio loses some of the limelight, and he is tied to Romney's politics. If Romney loses now, or if Romney wins and flops as Prez, then Rubio is tainted.

IMHO, Rubio would be a fool to accept the VP slot. It neuters him and sets him up in a risky relationship. Rubio should hold out for 2016.

Very impressed with your analysis.

Yes, Rubio is by far the best choice -if he accepts.

Romney has been planning this since at least 2000, when I first learned that his goal was to be POTUS. Unlike McCain in 2008, Romney is in it to win it. The argument made to Rubio is that he will help the ticket win the election, and may never get this chance again to be part of history.

Rubio would be the SMART choice. If they want a shot.
I still doubt it would be enough though. Many African Americans are going to still vote for Obama simply based on color (they'll often deny it, but it is what it is). Rubio though, will bring in a huge challenge for the Latino vote, and he's probably one of the most liked politicians.
