The following is adapted from a U.S. Syrian Alliance pastor’s account
of reports he received from Syria about what Christians are facing there.
This is his urgent plea for prayer from his worldwide Alliance family.

An armed religious group in Syria has murdered more than 200 Christians
in the city of Homs, including entire families with young children.
Gangs from the country’s traditonal religion also kidnapped Christians, demanding high ransoms. In
two cases, after the ransoms were paid, the men’s bodies were found.
Christians are being forced to flee thecity to the safety of government-controlledareas. Rebel fighters and their
families are taking over the believers’homes. We need your prayers and weneed them urgently.

You make a very valid and important point here. Most journalists are being prevented from entering the country at all, in order to make it harder for news to be spread of the reality of the situation on the ground in Syria. For a correspondent and his crew to make it inside a hot zone is therefore an achievement that most journalists would be pretty proud of.

Of course, if it is true that the group with which the reporter was traveling tried somehow to get him shot (there are ways to engineer these things) then that is a different matter, because there are yawning gulfs between escorting a reporter through an area, and deliberately aiming to get them thier nuts shot off. However, as you rightly point out, its a bit of an embarrassment to the Assad regime that anyone got through thier cordons at all!

This is precisely WHY I suspect the truth of the matter to be far from the way the reporter sees it. Another thing to consider is this. I am sure that we all recall the plight of the group of international journalists who were caught up in the early stages of the unfolding conflict in Syria, holed up in various hotels, and bombed out buildings during the height of shelling and artillery attacks by Assad's forces in the beginning. FSA, or at the very least, anti-Assad groups risked thier own lives to smuggle those journalists out to safety in surrounding nations, despite the Embassies of the nations to whom those journalists belonged wanting nothing to do with assisting in the extraction of their citizens. The anti-Assad organisations that got them out, did so despite several of the journalists having injuries that ranged from serious, to critical, and despite the fact that they were having to do so under fire. They were in short, bloody HEROIC in thier efforts to save these journalists.

The same organisations would not therefore be all that likely to deliberately expose a journalist to a risk that borders on, or exceeds that of "inviting certain death", even if asked to do so by the journalists involved. It would make no bloody sense!

It is with great sadness that both innocent unarmed christians and muslims are brutally murdered in Syria today.

Syria is predominantly a Muslim nation, and in a civil war, the baser instincts of man come to the fore, with differences being the main stumbling bloc to peaceful existance. There will be none to be had, for far too many had watched their loved ones brutally butchered by Assadist forces......

May the christians, espacially those whom had voice against the slaughter of humans by the beast Assad temporarily find safe quarters elsewhere, as reason is lost when justice had been absent to all.

And may those christians / muslims whom had supported such atrocities by barbarian Assad seek for salvation and redemption, and stay away from conflict zones, espacially in Homs where regular slaughtering had been going on since the genocide occurred 14 months ago.

There is no need to divide and conquer world opinion along religion lines, for both innocent muslims and christians had been equally targetted in this civil strife by that piece of goat's dung Assad, whom had gone schizoid with the haunted screams of thousands innocent dead subjects under his hand.

The slaughter must end, not just for christians or muslims, but fellow humankind in Syria

i notice you complete ignored the first 90% of that post. Allow me to repeat it:

If the Rebels are as bloodthirsty as many here at ATS claim and were that hard up to make a splash why didn't they just shoot the News crew themselves and blame the troops? It's not like anybody could tell or know the difference since both sides use the same type of weapons.

That tells me a lot about the mainstream news media outlets even thought i am not surprised they arent covering it.

Nonsense. For starters, The Guardian is 'western mainstream news' according to you:

The Daily Mail and Yahoo are running this story and it was also on BBC News earlier. Channel 4 surely falls under the 'western mainstream news' banner as well and this story is sourced from their journalist.

I notice the OP does that A LOT. HE complains about the 'mainstream media' not covering something, and then links to an article from the mainstream media!

lulz

This whole report stinks to high hell. And, OP, you might want to note that this is being reported the MSM you say you dont trust. Looks like you trust them 100% when they report what you want to believe.

Here's something that stands out as misleading in this report:

"Suddenly four men in a black car beckon us to follow. We move out behind," Thomson wrote in a Channel 4 News website blog published on Friday/ morning. "We are led another route. Led in fact, straight into a free-fire zone. Told by the Free Syrian Army to follow a road that was blocked off in the middle of no-man's land," he added.

So, these 'four men in a black car' he later identifies as the "Free Syrian Army"? How was he able to identify them as members of the "Free Syrian Army" if they were just 'four men in a black car'? And If they are the "Free Syrian Army', then who was the mob of people these men rescued them from? Because he also refers to them as being part of the 'rebels'.

TOOOOOOOO many contradictions. Use some damn skepticism, OP.

I doubt it with Russia,China in the way and the fact this is there only ally in the region, i heard a report that the Russians are getting ready there forces for oversea operations.

So that could be very huge, if true.

Assad's government have been telling us that the 'free Syrian army' is no more than 'terrorists' wreaking murderous havoc across the country -- using the uprising across the Arab world as opportunity to overthrow the regime and garner support for a rebellion. What's true is that the bloodshed on both sides is, and has been unacceptable with too many innocents caught in the crossfire. However, from an objective perspective, a case could be argued for the rebel movement to start considering more aggressive tactics in an effort to force the political hand of the West to intervene. From the 'free Syrian army's' viewpoint, the West has done nothing of comparative substance to stop the wholesale slaughter of Syrian people by government forces. As the killing intensifies and hope for resolution further eroded, neither side views the other as legitimate. We can't really know the true suffering of people in Syria, but am sure it has gone beyond desperation in many ways. Is this perhaps an act more ill-conceived and opportunistic, designed to force the West into action and relieve the suffering, than one premeditated with terror?

This is the same alex that reported this a few days ago on CNN i believe,

Thomson also stumbled upon a sectarian rhetoric which would be far harder to counter by any intervention:
In Al Houla, about week ago:
UNIDENTIIFED MALE: Shia and Alawites -- Shia and Alawites want to kill all Sunni people. Shia and Alawites, I promise you when the regime will fall we want to kill them.

THOMSON: You want to kill them?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No. No. No.
THOMSON: No. No more killing. No more killing.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. They kill us every day.
THOMSON: No more killing.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.
THOMSON: You want to kill them?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. I hurt them. And we all -- of all Houla people hurt them.

The report mentions no 'green flag', agent. It explicitly refers to 'men in a black car', which he then LATER claims were members of the "Free Syrian Army'. He offers no reference to what it is that makes him come to such a conclusion. And, in the previous paragraph he claims these 'four men in a black car' were actually SAVING him from a group of 'rebels'.

So you are just making # up and ignoring the bulk of the post you cite as evidence.

CREDIBILITY FAIL on your part, 'agent'.

Nice try with that but i know on what your trying and i am not making up evidence and i did read the article,

And, in the previous paragraph he claims these 'four men in a black car' were actually SAVING him from a group of 'rebels

What? i saw no such thing in the article want me to quote it for ya? in bold.

"Suddenly four men in a black car beckon us to follow. We move out behind," Thomson wrote in a Channel 4 News website blog published on Friday/ morning.

his team were fired upon and forced to take evasive action, eventually managing to "floor it back to the road we'd been led in on".

He also claimed that later on the same car of rebels blocked the road between their vehicle and the UN vehicles accompanying them, which he said prompted the UN escort to drive off and abandon them after seeing the Channel 4 team surrounded by "shouting militia". The incident took place last weekend and Thomson is now back in the UK.

Its clear you haven't read the article.

The article states that the same car of rebels blocked the road between their vehicle and the UN vehicles accompanying them, which he said prompted the UN escort to drive off and abandon them after seeing the Channel 4 team surrounded by "shouting militia".

So care to explain your

And, in the previous paragraph he claims these 'four men in a black car' were actually SAVING him from a group of 'rebels'

They same four men in a black car, weren't saving him, they were sending them into a trap.

Read the article and then comeback.
