Syrian rebels tried to get me killed, says Channel 4 correspondent

www.guardian.co.uk

Alex Thomson says crew was led to 'free-fire zone' as deaths would discredit Bashar al-Assad's regime

The chief correspondent of Channel 4 News has claimed that Syrian rebels deliberately tried to get him and his crew killed by gunfire from government forces in a bid to discredit the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Alex Thomson alleged a small group from the Free Syrian Army deliberately guided the vehicle in which he and his Channel 4 News colleagues were travelling into what he described as a "fr

This is spreading quiet fast and yet no western mainstream news media outlets like CNN, BBC,CBC has picked it up as an important news story?

That tells me a lot about the mainstream news media outlets even thought i am not surprised they arent covering it.

But our local news are? thats surprising.

Alex Thomson stated in his blog after he came back from Sryia that the rebels set up an ambush on him and the UN crew.

I am not surprised by this at all then after if the rebels succeed in there plans the mainstream news outlets would later then report on it.

As Assad forces or the shadow militia of Assad killed Reporter and UN crew
US & allies call for an military intervention on Sryia.

Lucky this didn't happen, i am glad that Alex Thomson made it back in piece.
You see people? this how these rebels, or more rather terrorists do there dirty work.

I can also say the same thing about these claim about the artillery shelling, who are really doing the shelling?

Shame on CNN for not reporting this, this tells you that they have an agenda.

These rebel terrorists are the ones who we want in charge?

Where does it stop? First Iraq, then Libya, and now syria...?

There will be blowback like what happened on 911 due to our interference if we keep doing this kind of thing and then we ask ourselves, why they hate us..

The rebel terrorists are being funded by western and arab states and that makes us responsible for supporting bloodshed

Pesronally in my view this was there Plan B agaisnt Iran when you see what they want and where is Sryia is located in the region is pretty easy to connect the dots.

Seeing how Plan Operation:Green Revolution failed, i guess this was Plan B. Proxy wars, and using the mainstream news outlets to there advantages.

Remember the 3 key points.

PROBLEM,REACTION, SOLUTION.

Yep, and this is interesting:

in a bid to discredit the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

So the western/arab funded terrorists are trying to discredit assad by trying to kill civilian news reporters. Exactly what we here at ATS have been saying, that there is a false propaganda war against Assad.

They are not terrorists because they are islamic. They are terrorists because that is who they are and are being paid to do by the west/arab states.

This is how the "news" is created folks. If those journalists got killed I guarantee you 110% that it would have been plastered all over the MSM front and center with a completely new spin on it, no doubt. The general public is living in a complete farce.

Yep if they had been killed the rebels would have conveniently blamed Assad, just how they did when they performed the massacre themselves.

My thoughts exactely, after the houla massacre, it was almost obvious too me, first MSM reports 100 or so dead from heavy gov. shelling, Then the observers get in to view the situation, and find all these people were killed close range and personal. Then the MSM reports its roving militias of Assads men killing anyone and everyone.

Well what is it, was it shelling, while his men are at the same time killing people or was it shelling alone, or as I think, great media having the F.S.A, murder there own and blame the assad regime to further the push for intervention.

Newest trend.

Assad'ing.

It is a lot like SWAT'ing, only they do it in syria.

I can see this going somewhere.

If the Rebels are as bloodthirsty as many here at ATS claim and were that hard up to make a splash why didn't they just shoot the News crew themselves and blame the troops? It's not like anybody could tell or know the difference since both sides use the same type of weapons.

Something stinks about this story...

First thing that should jump out at you.

Wrong weapons and ammunition.

News crew will likely be recording and sending out the feed. Best witness.

Many many more but you get the gist.

I threw out a counter scenario... I suppose because I am not in the know.

We can dance this one all day. Suck it up or it is your turn.

I have no scenario.

I posted an opinion based on simple logic and deduction then asked a question.

I threw out a counter scenario...

There was no "counter scenario" again, I posted an opinion and asked a question.

Ever dance with the Devil by the pale moonlight?

I suppose because I am not in the know.

I know BS when I smell it, somebody is throwing it IMO.

Nonsense. For starters, The Guardian is 'western mainstream news' according to you:

Once again western mainstream news outlets like the guardian...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

The Daily Mail and Yahoo are running this story and it was also on BBC News earlier. Channel 4 surely falls under the 'western mainstream news' banner as well and this story is sourced from their journalist.
