According to Nick Pope, he was hired to do this as part of the marketing campaign for the launch of the alien
invasion-themed Sony PlayStation game Resistance: Burning Skies.

As a writer and broadcaster specialising in subjects that include the unexplained, conspiracy theories and sci-fi, I often take part in PR campaigns to promote alien-themed movies, computer games, etc. There's no secret about this and indeed it's openly advertised on my website: www.nickpope.net... As part of the marketing campaign for the launch of the alien invasion-themed Sony PlayStation game Resistance: Burning Skies I was commissioned to draw up a war plan detailing how the UK government might respond to a real-life alien invasion. The document (and a clear explanation of the circumstances that led to its creation) can be read at the following link, third story down: www.nickpope.net... Various media outlets ran stories based on this, but to the best of my knowledge all of them contained a phrase such as to mark the forthcoming release of the Sony PlayStation game Resistance: Burning Skies, Sony has teamed up with former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator Nick Pope to produce.

I know that the articles I read did not make it clear that Nick was just saying this to promote a video game - but he obviously thinks this does not affect his credibility as a "UFO spokesperson".

Uhh, I guess we can call that the "I was hired to do this for money so its all okay" defense.

Okay, so I guess we should say "no sweat" to all the others who are "marketing" their "UFO Prophecies" to the gullible.

Just another reflection of the "idiocy" of Ufology, I guess.

I am sat now waiting to see this Nick Pope's idea that the Olympic closing ceremony has a 'liklihood' of an open alien visitation materialise. I don't trust government agents when they are wheeled out as public relations!
