did you watch the full video? he clearly states he honestly doesn't know who attacked him or why. he clearly states it was a gang of vigilantes. he does not know if they were beating immigrants or junkies? he makes this very clear.

he is in greece because he is investigating golden dawn. he does not state that golden dawn attacked him.

if you watch the video you would realise your comments are very silly and incorrect.

greece is in serious trouble. they are having problems with medical supplies, fuel, etc. the country is drowning and no one wants to know about it. europe will not throw it a life jacket. it is going to sit back and watch it drown. more and more vilgilantes will start to take control. before along they will become armed militia groups.

there is no need for any propoganda. the country is crumbling and as it falls apart you get watch thanks to youtube.

Pictures are worth a 1000 words and this is a movies of a nazi attacking other political speakers, it shows they mean business amd are ready to take what they want.

Given the level of corruption from the ALL the former "democratic" leaders that has ravaged the country i don't see this as a "wtf" moment.

THIS is why violent right wingers should be rounded up and imprisoned.

THIS is why the police and military will crack down on ordinary citizens, thanks to the retards that these citizens put in power.

I know on a personal level some suit wearing individuals who do far more damage on a global scale using the media than what this individual did, but that does not mean i support his actions in any shape or form. I guess the guy and judging by what was said between them all during the discussion simply triggered him.

First of all, please, don't use Greek words without providing a translation for them. Secondly, he is an Israeli reporter on assignment in Athens about the rise of neo-fascism. Put two and two together! Who is more likely to have attacked him the anarchists or the fascists?

Oh you would be suprised as to how this game is being played. Have you not seen plain clothed police provoking official police in riot gear during protests in greece, have you not seen the videos, perhaps you haven't, but i assure they have been busted over and over again and i would also like to add that greece is confronted with a cross road, its citizens know all to well that both political sides have done nothing other than rape the nation of its wealth and that only left the playing feild wide open for other and frustrated citizens to stand up and say " wtf is going on here ". So i wouldn't blame any neo nazi or what ever political ideology, at this very moment, i blame both ruling political sides and they alone are responsible for allowing such an extreme political ideology to enter government. Again ill point it out, at what point did a revolutionary be branded as a terrorist given today's standard of ethics and democracy.

...and ppl ask me why do proclaim myself as a digital civilian....well simply because... anyone can expect us.

Yes, I have seen them; I am Greek living in Greece. But as unlikely it is that it was anarchists, it's even unlikelier to have been police in civilian clothes. Typically, police in civilian clothes act as agents provocateurs at protest rallies to discredit the protest. What would there be to gain for them to attack a journalist on a peaceful assignment? So, they can blame it on the anarchists? No-one would believe them anyway given the circumstances. To blame it on the fascists? Also, quite unlikely, since they work hand in hand with the fascists. No, there is no doubt in my mind that this was a fascist attack. Yes, the traditionally two big parties that ruled the country since 1974 are to blame, too, because they nurtured the fascists for far too long, because they are useful stooges. Everytime, the socialist government and Andreas Papandreou in the 80ies did not want to get it's hands dirty by employing riot police, they called for the fascists to do the dirty job. As I've said already I was there in Exarchia during that time, I have seen them in action and I was a victim of their brutality.

Europe has already thrown us plenty of life jackets, unfortunately as far as common people are concerned they came attached with straight jackets and were really designed to only save the banks - theirs and ours.

And I don't think the term vigilante applies. A vigilante is typically someone who avenges some crime instead of relying on police and justice doing it's work. What was the journalist's crime here? Being Israeli and having the nerve to investigate the rise of neo-fascism in Greece? Or simply being a journalist? I could buy the latter if it happened during a protest rally, but that is not the case here. I'm quite confident that some fascist got wind of him investigating and he called his buddies to mop him up. That's what they do, you know, they try to beat you into submission.

P.S.: Do you want to know the scary part? There is some rather large portion of the population who supports tactics like these. I overheard someone today saying that Mrs Kanelli got what she deserved because she has such a foul mouth, meaning she's not afraid to use profanities.

K, time to kick the wheels on free speech.

People will think me wrong for saying so but I'm glad that guy slapped her. Of course I've been brutalized by my ex and that plays a part. I have never hit a woman but I've seen some cruel women. They are cruel because the suffer no repercussions from their actions. My point being, if you are going to provoke somebody maybe you shouldn't be surprised when you eat knuckles. Civilized society? Take a look around. It is certainly anything but civilized. People act out to whatever degree they can get away with. No self control.

I personally think we've had enough flawed idealism. I'd vote for the guy.

ahh exarchia...what a sweet place, i love the aroma of tear gas in the morning, riot police pounding anyone they see as a potential threat, mass arrests now that they suddenly realized there are to many illegals in the nation while all the time this so called extreme paty (Golden Dawn) has been blazing the same thing over and over for many many years. Where is that unified european law that was supposed to help these so called political or religious refugees move to their intended destination but are and have been halted and been confined to greece as if greece is one huge fema camp. I say, round up all those illegals, place them on a boat or in a plane and fly or ship them to their intended destination and let the european so called law handle that issue rather than paying a nation like greece to detain them. In closing i would also like to add that a little spice in life is always needed just to make life that little bit interesting.
