I think you have an issue in seeing those women as actual human beings rather than possessions or staked honor.

However, Saudi, alongside other Islamic countries are changing and allowing women to have more rights (strangely though, a lot of the women don't want them to change).

First of all, women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia.

Second of all, in you having to say they have "more rights" you are also saying they don't have equal rights. And pardon my french but if a country or a culture does not allow equal opportunities then that country or culture isn't even worth to wipe your behind with.

As for changing one's religion, I can't comment on that as I never experienced it. I will say though that I was never penalised for not being muslim.

I've had discussions with muslims who naturally think Islam is right and Christianity is wrong and similar to here pointed out aspects where they were mistaken and blinkered.

but the truth remains that there are huge differences in between the religions and the direction of these religions. And these differences are painstakingly apparent for those who can see...so how come you can't see it?

As it is, you cannot read both books with a calm mind and claim that Islam is "peaceful". Yes, people can be peaceful, but the writings sure as hell aren't.
