Something about the #1 thread on ATS...

Something I found amusing but maybe it's just me. A thread opened with the usual "Hope this won't get deleted",

Well, looks like it was in the right place after all! It's the top rated thread of all time on ATS.

Not only that but I noticed that I forgot to S&F this thread so I'm doing it now. Better late than never right? Sorry for the delay as it is well deserved.

It was a great thread and is still rolling so thank you for your contribution welshbeliever.

I am confused about the purpose of this thread. I am not talking bad about it, but to me it seems to be nothing more than a totally separate "bump" thread for a thread that seems to be doing fine all by itself. Just because it starts of saying that the OP hopes it does not get 404rd? I just does not make sense.

Basically, it's the fact that it opened like so many "Hope this doesn't get deleted" or "Mods please move if not in the right forum" type of thing.

I found it amusing that "Hope this doesn't get deleted" turning into the top thread was interesting, funny etc.

Maybe a lesson to not assume you have nothing to contribute?

yes.. But that amount of flags still indicates that around or less than 1% of ATS thinks its important. I thought of this the other day. Whats a good grade for a thread? 1%? Is that the best anyone can do? Just 1%? Thats horrible. Fail.

That's a good point.

But we have to think that many join and don't return, many don't tune in as much as us ATS junkies so may have missed it. Many joined after the thread and still others couldn't give a $#**...so all in all 1% might be pretty good...

Just a theory...
