I do agree with what one poster said.... Tampa is going to be ugly.

Myself, along with many other liberals, hope so

Ron Paul is going to help Obama one way or another.

I hope so too.

You see, the part you seem to miss is what I love the most. As long as we continue to have corrupt establishment puppets in Office, the more they expose themselves and the agenda. Numbers don't lie, and you can see how many more votes Ron Paul got from his previous run in 2008. Double, triple, in some cases more, the message of freedom reached a lot more people and that happened under 1 term with Obama. I do hope for a second term, because then the numbers for real freedom will explode.

While foolish people like yourself have focused on smearing Ron Paul, thinking that the message was all about a person, what you missed is how people who actually love freedom have slipped into spots that used to be held by other establishment puppets. It has never been about Ron Paul the man. There is no messiah or idol worship. It was about the message of Freedom. So really, the joke is on you. Enjoy winning your little battles.... I will enjoy winning the war.

Ron Paul Campaign Statement

“Delegates to the state convention were chosen at caucus meetings on April 28th. Ron Paul slates won four of six congressional district contests. Of the approximately 180 delegates attending the state convention, 113 voted to remove the LAGOP chairman when he failed to respond to requests for information and other motions from delegates. Nearly two-thirds of the delegates began physically moving their chairs, literally turning their back on the GOP chair appointed by the party hierarchy.

“In another instance, State Central Committeeman and Ron Paul supporter Henry Herford Jr. of Franklin Parrish was attacked by some security officials who didn’t realize that the body had voted out the previous chairman. Mr. Herford has a prosthetic hip and according to a doctor at the scene it appears as though the prosthetic was dislocated and may require replacement. The injury occurred as he was beginning to call to order the newly re-formed convention.

“In yet another instance, Ron Paul supporter Alex Helwig, Chairman of the Rules Committee who made the motion to remove the chair, was arrested by Shreveport police and released. During his brief detainment, some of his fingers were broken and when he returned to the event he was walking with aid of a cane.

“By 10:50 a.m. today, the newly formed convention completed its work. Newly-elected national delegates met with the Romney campaign’s Louisiana Chairman, Scott Sewell, who graciously said ‘that he supported the effort and would do everything he could to make sure the delegation was seated’ in Tampa.

Thoughts on Louisiana, Civility and Winning

Here’s the response to the events in Louisiana today from National Campaign Manager John Tate. John rightly condemns the violence suffered by some of our supporters and also rightly praises the Romney campaign for taking the high road to make sure our duly elected delegates assume their rightful place in Tampa.

Establishment Republicans sometimes claim that Ron Paul supporters occasionally get out-of-hand. This has been true, and to the extent that some Paul supporters have exhibited poor behavior not only reflects badly on the individuals involved, but Dr. Paul. I have seen great strides toward more civility and having more respectful attitudes moving forward. Our side currently has all the ideas; we don’t need to yell the loudest. The GOP is an ideological vacuum that is currently being filled with our people right before our eyes. Our superior philosophy will win the day. It is already winning.

No idea what went on...

Yet report that the police assaulted a Ronnie supporter. All I saw was an unruly douchebag being escorted out of what appeared to be a public event.

Exactly dude, isn't it funny how afraid the Obama lovers of ATS are of Dr Paul? They know what a threat he is to their POTUS.

I did read it. I was under the impression this ne'er do well suffered from a dislocated hip, one that was artificial. He was being a typical Ronnie fanboy, acting like a child and got what was coming to him. Old duffer probably fell down while being escorted out.

you're missing something here. he was voted in by the ron paul delegates. He was the replacement to the old chair. as this guy (the one with the artificial hip) started to go on stage to take his roll where security stepped in... and what followed is what you saw in the video.

I have to cop to it, for some reason none of this clicked right in my head. Probably all the bath salts I've huffed today.

Sickening how they're treating the Paul supporters in these sham delegate conventions. This man had a hip replacement but they threw him to the floor anyway.
Looks like the are either trying to A) split the party so Obama wins or B) steamroller Paul and continue the campaign of completely ignoring him and his supporters. As if Romney were anybody but Wall Street's choice.
Tampa is going to be trouble this year, I have a feeling.

Isn't it amazing that a guy in a suit attending a political function gets thrown to the ground? He doesn't appear threatening or uncooperative...if anything he isn't moving fast enough for the police. Should police be allowed to tackle you to make you move faster? Seems like it would actually slow things down to me.

Cat's been hitting the bath salts hard for years.

I actually watched the video, read half the thread, and still came away thinking this guy was trying to protest. I'm rather embarrassed. Also I don't actually condone dislocating old man hips.

Contrary to popular belief here on ATS....Ron Paul supporters don't get to make the rules.

Your delusional...i've never had the impression that ATS believes such....your own post however shows that the rules are changed specifically to shut the Paul supporters out.

BS.

It has always been about Ron Paul and about how he is such an honest and consistent person.

This is Ron's last run...he's an old man...he doesn't have another election in him.

Support will fall apart without him...who's going to step in...his son who is playing along with the established Republicans

Ron Paul may double his percentage...that gets him up to a whooping 12%...a this rate it will take two more presidential election for him to get above 50%....that will make him 84 years old.

I think you are crazy if you think Republicans are going to take up his policies.

He was not voted in under the presiding rules.

They tried to make up their own rules to vote him in...and he continued to act as if he was the chairman, hence disrupting the convention.

Typical Ron Paul supporter antics....you guys are embaressing your own candidate...and he has released plenty of statements saying he doesn't like. Good job guys

Well Ron Paul is honest and consistent. That is why his supporters trusted his words over someone like Obama, Romney, McCain, etc etc. That is why supporters did not believe Paul was like all tehr est who say one thing and then do another. However his message has nothing to do with him as a person, it has everything to do with freedom. Paul supporters did not support Ron Paul cause he was some hip cool guy, it was his message.

This is Ron's last run...he's an old man...he doesn't have another election in him.

I agree completely, but is Ron Paul the only person who can carry a torch for freedom? I don't think so.

Support will fall apart without him...who's going to step in...his son who is playing along with the established Republicans

Yes, I would imagine people who are starving for Freedom will just cave in and forget all they learned over the last two decades. All the Paul supporters who are now GOP chairs, will suddenly quit and pack it up and fall in line with business as usual.
Do I even have to point out just how silly this argument is?

Ron Paul may double his percentage...that gets him up to a whooping 12%...a this rate it will take two more presidential election for him to get above 50%....that will make him 84 years old.

Here you simply missed my point. Again, it is not about Ron Paul the man. The way I view your statement is that the message of freedom got up to a whooping 12% and at this rate it will take two more elections filled with more puppetry, more broken promises, more raping of the public before the message of freedom gets to above 50%.

I think you are crazy if you think Republicans are going to take up his policies.

You can call me crazy if you wish. Coming from you I consider it a compliment. The Republican Party has changed during this election cycle. Will they take up Paul's policies? I have no idea, but one thing is certain. The Party will change or we will see the rise of a 3rd party who will embrace those ideals. An idea who's time has come can not be stopped and the message of freedom is now out there. It is a genie you can not put back into the bottle.

well if you think about it... they kind of did...

the term Blow-Back... the GOP has been pushing the RP folks around... at each and every caucus/state convention...

it was only a matter of time before they started pushing and shoving back...

I agree! It isnt about Ron Paul at all, This is coming from someone who doesnt give a flying F who is running as long as they are honest and believe in what i believe in, what i would work for and what I would die for and thats Freedom and ending all this corruption.

Honestly, Im not a REP or DEM or even Independent, I'm Not "Right" or "Left", "Conservative" or "Liberal"(Yes I know what they mean) I'm not whatever you want to call me, I'm just a person with my own opinions and belief's, I dont even care about this dirty system between Two so called different Parties when they all just the same. We all have been lied to over and over and over again by our so called Leaders, Flip-Flopping, Disinformation, Dishonest. Every years its all the same BS.

Everything that is going on within the Election Process is all a game. It's just a Sport.

What I like about Ron Paul and many many many moreee in D.C that are holding high positions is that they only care about one thing and that is real true freedom. Ron Paul ( & many others past and present ) has been saying the same thing for many years without flip-flopping just to fit in and not vote on a Bill that will Destroy people's lives. To put it in simple term... THEY KEEP IT REAL!

Even if Ron Paul doesnt win, There will ALWAYS BE SOMEONE else to fit in the shoes of FREEDOM.
The Revolution doesnt stop just because of one man, It has never stopped all these years and now its just starting to show. Ron Paul isnt the first or the last, as many others in the past.

All of these instances of Paul supporters being manipulated by the established Gop are coming to a head. The message is clear, they are willing to change the rules to favor Romney and they'll do so in front of our eyes. That's blatant manipulation.

If they can change the rules and ignore a majority vote to replace the chair, people aren't going to be quiet about it, they'll raise hell and rightfully so.

I don't understand why its taken this long. Paul supporters are getting pissed. If this crap happened to obama supporters there would be inciting goddamn riots. Paul supporters are being civil in their protests.

Obama has kept his word huh? Please, the dudes a total fallacy. Paul is standing on some hardcore solid foundation. When obama supporters showed so much passion for him in 08, no one dared to question their passion, because if they did they were racist. ..God forbid Paul supporters show their passion right? Pfft. Get the eff outta here with that bs.

About the OP, Its so wrong on many level (besides the election process) on these cops. They could have handle it differently considering he's not young or in any shape at all for anything but yet they treat him like an animal with their smiles and crap while an elderly guy on the floor in pain.

Funny how at the end the younger cop was asking for ID because it was being recorded and how none of them were willing to do a report, They know they were wrong and they know with that video, they could get into some heat which is just a slap on the ass like if they were little children. We all get our days and soon it will be theirs.
