I read the article and I did not see anywhere that it was Hitler who recommended the name change. Keep in mind that the article says that Pars (Persia) was just a region in their country. THe author makes the point that it does not make sense for a nation to change its name on the international stage just because they have changed it internally.
In other words, even though Egypt (al-Misr), Greece (Hellas), Japan (Nihon), China (Zhongguo), India (Bharat), Germany (Deutschland) and Finland (Suomi) are not called those names in their own languages (they are completely different names), there doesn't need to be some effort to change the international perception via the name of the nation.

Does anyone think that after Hitler was done exterminating the Jews and Gypsies he wouldn't have continued trying to rid the world of the Slavs and then the Arabs and Central Asians and finally the Iranians? Additionally, it would not make sense for Iranians to be wholly anti-Semitic as Arabs are Semites too and Iranians have adopted their religion...and many aspects of their culture.
