Ronald Reagan held a Veteran's Day speech at the Vietnam Memorial. (link)
GW Bush held a speech at the Memorial one year (2002) and held a speech at the Arlington Cemetery several years (2003, 2006, 2008), closing down both for each appearance.
Obama has done nothing different than his predecessors, holding a ceremony nearly identical in nature to those of Reagan and Bush.
It's been a tradition for several administrations now that a president lays a wreath at the memorial on Veteran's Day (which ALWAYS results in the public being shunned away).
So what exactly has got the crazies all worked up this time around? Obama doing the same thing as his predecessors or Obama not fitting in with your prejudiced views of how and what a president should look like?

Yeah. I guess they werent as upset over this non-issue as a few bloggers were.
If you had bothered reading, veterans were not allowed to the wall. It was closed to them.
That is what the fuss is about. How did you miss that? The title makes it clear, the post made it clear. Let me ask, do you have trouble reading?

This is such an idiotic thread..
Basically it is OK for certain presidents to do this but not Obama...God you Obama haters are ridiculous.
First you complain that Obama did this...then when shown other pics of other presidents doing the exact same thing...you then change tactics and say...look at how all the people are closer to the other presidents....
They do not look closer or further in those pics...hell you can't even tell the distance in them.

Reading what - a heavily biased anti-Obama blog piece? Maybe the fact it was the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam war and the ceremony included a whole lot more than just the president, in fact quite a crowd of veterans and their families turned out to see the ceremony at the wall, to claim they were 'shut out' is a load of bull. according to his itinerary he held a breakfast with Vietnam veterans at the WH, laid the traditional wreath at Arlington, then held the 50th anniversary commemoration of the war at the Vietnam Wall, with vets and their families in attendance. Yet the ODS (Obama derangement syndrome) must have been in high gear to claim Obama "shut out" veterans. His memorial day service looked like it was pretty inclusive and paid special homage to Vietnam vets. and looked a LOT like the one Reagan held at the wall during his term, which I had attended as part of the US Navy honor guard. It was no different then than it was with Obama, just as it is no different every year at Arlington, no matter who is president. You could just as easily have written than Reagan or Bush or Clinton ceremonies at the wall were "closed to all Veterans", to paint them in a negative light as the author of this piece was clearly doing.
Tears for the fallen: America remembers its military heroes as President leads nation in poignant Memorial Day ceremonies
