The USA is too reliant on the world economy, we don't have factories or produce things other than weapons and aircraft that others want. We are overpriced on our stuff. Maybe you don't see what we have allowed to be created but I do. There is too much structure to this thing, it's almost like someone is controlling our downfall.

We have a TON of old factories laying around not being used. It doesn't take a lot to retrofit/refurbish some of this stuff to produce anything we want. Corporate and political US are masters of propaganda and influence, all it would take is a little spark and a news story to create a paradigm shift towards industrialism, just like the 1940s.

Also the entire world buys US weapons and food. Iran even uses American fighters, without the good stuff of course.

When push comes to shove we (the United States) has the know-how and means to be able to produce goods itself... More companies are going to be bringing their business back home soon enough, the world of outsourcing to 3rd world countries will eventually come to an end. The US tried that, it never worked, and now companies understand that it looks "better" when their products are produced state-side.. It may cost a little more, but its definitely worth it when yuo consider that people want to buy products from companies who produce here in USA and who employ american citizens

EDIT: Which is at the top. The world gets just as much from America as America gets from the world. In today's world of globalization, a ban on imports and exports from the US would absolutely destroy the world.

We don't produce much relative to what we used to because we have transitioned to a mostly service based economy. If the situation calls for it (for example your "world wide ban on all things United States"), I have no doubt we would see a massive revival of the US's factories.

I don't see a third world war being fought any time soon. In my opinion we're looking at a point in time so far into the future that one might as well ask whether or not the US and Europe will be fighting each other.

Without a recall of our money and restructuring it won't be possible, our national debt is too high. Our factories have been destroyed, leveled so the competition wouldn't get them. This is nowhere near the conditions that occurred in the forties.

I do not see the factories except maybe in Flint and Detroit. Most stuff is made abroad. Most factories are gone.

Our national debt is mostly owned by Americans themselves. You are correct that the conditions are quite different than the forties, but there is one thing that is the same: American's resiliency.

I guess you are completely ignorant of what happened back then. You ever heard of the Marshall Plan or the fact that after we toppled the authoritarian leadership of Japan they experienced miraculous economic growth because of American born libertarian and democratic ideologies.

Fairly certain it was the UK that first intervened. It was it's Naval and Air forces that took the fight to the Germans. D-Day was their idea and operation, with of course some American units involved.

But of course UK counts even less in this case as "Europe" since it was not and was never going to be invaded.

Britain wasn't invaded you halfwit. We DECLARED war on Germany because that's how we roll. We don't let our allies get brought to their knees and then only join in when we're attacked, we stand up and say "Oi, me and you, outside, now!"
