Hmm, I would of put my money on Robin.

You know...Batman's "Boy Wonder"...living with another man in a cave...his name is "Robin".

But I don't really follow comics...I just watch them when they are made into movies

I forgot about that. Bruce and Robin did have some serious homoerotic undertones. They slept in the same bed for years!

Actually a lot of old comics had those themes, come to think of it.

I'm Polish. Where's my super hero?

I want one that rides a flying beer keg and beats villains into submission with a giant kielbasa.

And bat woman has been a lesbian for as long as I can remember

I really don't see the problem.

I've always loved green lantern, this won't change anything but then again I'm gay myself.

I'd still rather have wolverine, he's just more of a man lol

LOL...yep. That would have been my first guess as well. When I first heard this was going to happen I was actually thinking it was going to be Aquaman. I don't read comics either....but I do watch the movies as they are usually pretty entertaining.

The Green Lantern Alan Scott is not the same as the Green Lanterns of the Green Lantern Corps. Alan Scott's powers are magic which comes from the Starheart, a magical entity once imprisoned by the Guardians.

Now, having clarified that, I shall continue to wear my Green Lantern (of the Green Lantern Corps) t-shirts, so it does not mean I am coming out as gay since the Corps are different from Alan Scott.

This goes to show what you know about the Green Lantern mythology, which is to say Jack Shiz!

But if you want to argue of the Green Lantern of the Justice League, why didn't you pick Hal Jordan (white) from the Superfriends cartoon of the 70's instead of John Stewart (black) from the Justice League cartoon of the 2000's?

There are at least four Green Lanterns from earth: Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and John Stewart (the black one). There are thousands more who aren't from earth.

I have a feeling some Hollywood mogul producer approached DC Comics, and offered big bucks to do a movie, if the Green Lantern came out as Gay. I don't have a problem with it at all.

No, he isn't gay, just his superpowers are. He's useless out of water.

How many gay kids are going to come out too soon, get picked on, then kill themselves because of this?

Probably not as many suicides compared to "Glee", but I'm sure there will be some.

Thinking it's OK to be gay because the Green Lantern is, only opens you up to much harsher ridicule, and gay teens are not emotionally stable to begin with.

And yet they still argue that there is no such thing as a gay agenda. Sorry, but I find this completely wrong.

Well this is just stupid.

Alan Scott is suddenly gay... To me this is nothing more than pandering and it is insulting.

I really don't understand why they couldn't have a new character who happened to be homosexual. Alan Scott is free to be as gay as he wants to be, but the fact that they used one of DC's oldest, respected and beloved characters, this just seems to be solely for publicity.

As far as I'm concerned every new character in DC from now until the end of time can be flamingly gay if they want them to be, won't stop me from reading, but using a well established character to pander.... that's just not cool.

No reason to be ashamed if you are gay.

Plenty of reasons to be ashamed if you are a fan of "Glee." In fact I prefer that folks stay in the Glee closet, and I'd much rather the fans of the show be treated as second class citizens than they homosexual folks.

Kids don't even read comics anymore. I once read that over 50% of those who buy DC comics are between 13 and 35 and there's also quita a large percentage of people between 36 and 55 years old. So they're not a problem.

Besides, you don't 'become' gay and you certainly don't think "Oh, my favourite comic book hero is gay, so i will be gay too". Either you are bisexual, hetero or gay from the very beginning.

And i don't know what's the problem is. Just because ONE comic book hero is Gay now doesn't mean it's the end of the world.
I think it's great, that humanity starts to get more modern and more open to different lifeforms.

Sorry, but you are just completely wrong. Children DO see things on the television or in comics, and yes they DO think "Well X does this so I must do it as well so I can be cool like X", whether or not you become or are born gay is completely unimportant, the fact is, young people do not need to be exposed to that lifestyle.

What happens behind closed doors between two adults should stay there, especially homosexuality. There is no need for people to see that.

Not at all. While he does need to return to the water he is hardly useless outside of it. Minimum he can lift 60 tons on land. Properly hydrated he can lift 10,000 tons. Not to mention he has super speed, reflexes, and endurance. I really don't understand the hate against Aquaman. He's essentially just a clone of Namor but no one ever has a problem with Namor.

If I remember correctly, Batman and Robin slept in the same bed together for quite some time before Batgirl (bat purse and all!) was drawn up for the sole purpose of combating rumours that Bruce Wayne was an eccentric gay millionare playboy who made his money off of casinos and naughty magazines while sleeping with his teen sidekick - when he wasn't brooding about abandonment issues.

I don't mind heroes or villians coming out, but I can understand why some longtime readers would be puzzled - to a point. Im an art dork so I really just look at comics for the art and not so much the stories: of which IMO are soap opera quality, which kinda fits with gay characters I guess.
