With unconditional love, you will get it but you would have to give it.

No eating meat, you would have to care for the animals.
No smoking, you would have to care about your body and the earth
No rudeness, you would have to care about other people's feelings
No revenge or justice, you must always forgive no matter how many times people do evil to you
You must be selfless, always seeking to give to others and unconcerned about receiving

With unconditional freedom, you will get it without rules.

You can take away another's freewill and control them and even make them slaves
You can take and never give if you choose
There will be no punishment for rape, murder, and theft (unless a person choose to take away their freedom)

Which would you choose?
before i answer may i first point out that your perceptions of both are rather unrealistic.
as for me, i'll choose unconditional freedom any day and every day.
Love is all around me when i choose to see it and unconditional love exists everywhere when YOU choose to display it.

Unconditional love IS unconditional freedom.
The unconditioned is.
Then the human mind tells the world how it should be and then it suffers accordingly.

You are ignoring your true nature when you put 'conditions' on.

The conditions are there because I am trying to figure out if a person would choose 'love' or 'freedom' under certain conditions.

It is unrealistic, I know, but it is hypothetical.

If you choose freedom, you are right that you can still love with free-will, but if you choose love you are forced to love others, annimals, and the planet.

When there are no conditions there are no 'choices'. All that is left is love and freedom.

If you have to choose there is no freedom. Freedom from choice is freedom to love and be.
I accept and embrace all that life shows.

Yup conditions cause choices, but there are conditions in the original post such as not eating meat if you choose love.

Conditions are expectations. Humans want things to be a certain way, they put conditions on life. Life happens and humans fight with it because it is not what they anticipated. If they did not put conditions on life they would know unconditional love and freedom.

Eating meat does not make you a hater or make you unfree.
If you believe it does then you have put a condition on love and love does not have conditions.

no offense intended here, but in my world, all of those things already exist ... i already share unconditional love with most creatures and the planet. i cannot fathom a world where such would be excluded.

i understand your hypothetical, that's why i answered it.
it saddens me that you seem to disagree.

equally, i cannot fathom a world without violence, it is human nature.
learning to choose to employ unconditional love, even in the most violent environments, is true success.

humans crave violence. always have, always will.
if they are not participating, they're watching. if they are not watching, they're teaching.
if they are not doing any of the above, they are dead.

Again, it is a hypothetical question...

Well in this question, love DOES have a condition and you can NOT eat meat if you choose love. So based on those rules of the original post, which would you choose love or freedom?

There is no choice between love and freedom, they are the same.
You question is hypothetical so does not deal in truth.
I will not discuss lies.

I love unconditionally and the choice in my freedom is not having to love the things that you do

i guess you're just going to spam this all over the internet today. i see you left out God and Satan.

in my opinion you are trying to make love a burden and you are making freedom oppressive.

as defined, i'd choose neither.

So if you don't like hypotheticals why are you even on a thread asking about a hypothetical question?

Bye bye, see you on the other threads...

This is a forum about denying ignorance and finding truth.
But it looks like you don't want the truth, it is you who is in the wrong place.
But then if there was no ignorance present we could not deny it, so thank you for your input.

No I'm not. I'm in the Philosophy section, asking a question for philosophical insight. If you don't like it, you can just leave this question and go to another one.

ATS denies ignorance.
ATS seeks truth.

Yes, but this is a hypothetical situation which is completely valid on a PHILOSOPHY section. You don't have to spam the forums saying "ATS deny ignorance" I know this.

So i am spamming???
Because i point to the truth.

You point to things that aren't true and this has to be pointed out because i am denying ignorance.

You are spamming because you aren't contributing anything to the conversation and you repeat yourself saying "deny ignorance", how many times must you say it in one conversation / thread?
