Hawaii Verifies Obama a Dual Citizen: Not Qualified For Presidency

What a misleading thread this is? Yellow journalism at its worst! I would rather read about santa claus coming down the chimney on christmas eve, than more Obama is a closet socialist from kenya. The birthers and conservatives never seize to amaze me.

I will admit I had my doubts about his citizenship in the beginning, but reasonable proof has been provided and more. I think people need to let this go and focus on important issues. The more we are distracted with this nonsense the less attention the real topics get.

Personally, I find it a slight dubious that the alleged birth certificate happens to come from Hawaii....the one state of the union that has wanted to secede from the union since day one.

I could go with that. I would even think of going as far as treating it more like jury duty. People are called to serve in the office of congressman or senator for a given term, then sent back home and back to their lives with special requiremets for employers to return them to their previous or better position. That would take all the life-long politicians out of the mix.

Yup, they could call in a large group, then narrow it down based on ability. There will always be some that are not able to serve due to age or illness, but it would give a good cross section of the population and take all the politics out of it.

I do miss the "old days" when people who weren't very bright, those who were clearly unable to succeed in areas of intelligence, the downright "stupid" were kept out of public discourse whether it be through humanity, embarassment, humiliation or whatever the case was, they weren't up spewing and screaming about all the wild and crazy ideas that popped into their heads and more things got done.
That just isn't the case anymore. I guess since they were kept away from public discourse, they occupied themselve with breeding excessively and now there are so many of them that they just can't be kept under supervision and they're overflowing into all areas of society

What this thread apparently is lacking is a mention of the original intent of the founding fathers when they used the phrase "Natural Born" in the Constitution.

And the problem appears to be this.

When the founding fathers went to write the Constitution this book had been out for approximately 20-25 years. And most likely read by most if not all of them. Clearly Obama fails the natural born citizen test as defined by the book.

The problem with logic is that logic is not actually proof. All it is is a claim without any real evidence to back it up. Anybody can be argumentative, but being argumentative doesn't really present any real evidence. And regardless of how verbose or eloquent or lengthy it might be, you still need real evidence to back up the claim, not just an argument.

When there's real evidence, then I'm interested, until then, all logic is to be disregarded.

Anybody can use logic to be argumentative.

Natural Born and Native Born are two different things. You can be a Native Born Citizen (born in the U.S.) and still not be a Natural Born Citizen (one born in the U.S. of two U.S. Citizens). The Supreme Court ruling in Minor v. Happersett defines a Natural-born Citizen as the offspring of TWO U.S. Citizens.

Citizenship isn't the responsibility of the recipient, it is the responsibility of the issuer.

Iran could make Mitt Romney a citizen tomorrow by declaring it so. They are the issuers of said citizenship status, not Mitt Romney, not The United States. Mitt Romney could denounce it, but it doesn't matter, as far as this logic goes, because he was once a citizen of Iran.

If a sitting president does something that a different country doesn't like, they could just declare that the president is now a citizen of their country, thus disqualifying him for the presidency. Hey, maybe they will have better luck with the next guy!

This is getting pretty pathetic.

Actually - - the USSC has never finalized an exact definition of what Natural Born Citizen is. They have made decisions on individual cases - - - but have always left themselves a loop hole - - by intent it seems.

Anyway - - you are a Natural Born citizen if you are born on US soil (not territories) and not if you are a child of a diplomat from another country.

Your parents could be born on Mars - - - it does not matter where your parents were born.
