def something there.

this second video is much better than the first one.

I don't know what that is though, as the video isn't long enough.

It could be a plane or blimp flying away from the camera and that is why it looks stationary.

Although with the shape, it would have to be very close or a pretty big unconventional aircraft.

Are you sure it isn't an antenna? It doesn't move, so maybe it is?

The TV reporter/presenter is most likely not outside, so that view of Moscow may be through a window or on a TV monitor. It is possible that the object is just a spot on the glass.

No, there appears to be movement from the object..

My immediate thoughts was that it may be a plane etc, but then it might also be a pretty big flag due to its movements in the second vid..

But hey, that's just an initial observation based on what we got so far..

I'd like to know what it really is...

Due to the "pixel creep" caused by the low resolution, it's hard to tell if there is any actual movement.

The pixelization of the object in conjunction with the video compression causes the perimeter pixels around the object in the low res video to switch between being the color of the sky and the color of the object, giving an appearance of having a slight movement.

...Plus the fact it is a video of a video creates pixel issues.

Sorry for the delay in replying, been messing with the drive.
Unfortunately the TV (panasonic viera smart tv) formats the drive in a proprietary format which my windows laptop can't recognise.

So I've took some stills with my DSLR and will upload those in a minute.
At first I thought it was a hole in the clouds but it was just staying in place and started fading in and out. (That's when I hit the record button on the TV).
Then as another poster suggested I though oh it's just a flag/antenna until it disappeared then reappeared.

I'll just crop the images and pick the best ones to upload.. BRB.

Here's a still for those that can't watch the youtube vids.

I tried uploading an animated gif as well but ATS wont allow it?

Anyway the more I've watched it the more I think it maybe a flag. (And so does the missus, we know they're always right.:lol

Although it does look too high above the building. Must be a very large flagpole if so.

Anyone know what the building is? Maybe find on google streetview and see if it has a flagpole.

a .gif file has to be less than 500 kb big to be accepted. with a gif, we could see the "flag" move ?

That's thing. It doesn't move as a flag would e.g wave.
It fades out of view and reappears darker..

Looks like the flag on the Duma Parliament building. I think the background is showing the top half of the building?

The reporter, Amanda Walker, confirms via her Twitter that the building in the background is the Russian White House.

Nice effort on your part

Way to keep an eye on the sky even when indoors.
Great observation skills, no matter that it turned out to be something ordinary, 'cause ya never know.
