Written nine months before 9/11 Joel C Rosenberg's novel, The Last Jihad, portrays a hijacked plane attacking a major US city and the President of the United States. Rosenberg is quoted saying that he had to "make some changes" to the book while he was writing it after the 9/11 attack because his story was too similar to the actual incident.

Five months before the 2003 invasion of Iraq, he wrote a novel about war with Saddam Hussein, the death of Yasser Arafat eight months before it occurred, a story with Russia, Iran, and Libya forming a military alliance against Israel occurring the date of publishing, the rebuilding of the city of Babylon, Iran vowing to have Israel "wiped off the face of the map forever" five months before Iranian President Ahmadinejad used similar language, and the discovery of huge amounts of oil and natural gas in Israel (a major gas discovery occurred in January 2009).

Rightly so, Rosenberg is labelled as the modern day Nostradamus. And is now a huge world wide celebrity in conservative politics claiming that he has fit together the pieces of the puzzle, using the book of Revelations in the bible along with stories ripped from the headlines. He might even use some government insider knowledge

Given his track record, we must wonder if Rosenberg's peace plan outlined by a fictional or future President (who just so happens to be an ex- wall street banker remind you of anyone?) is actually reasonable.

Because of the terrorist attack, the president wants to Bomb the two biggest cities in Iraq. He feels Iraq is the center of modern day terrorism and with that out of the way. Israel and Palestine will be free to make peace over, the (Nearly Trillion dollar) oil reserves that had just been discovered there. The ex-banker's plan is to use the reserve to form a gigantic oil company. Palestinian and Israeli civilians will be given automatic shares, a couple thousand each. Average families in the area make $1500 a year. If they take the company private in a few years. All those people will be extremely wealthy! Think Facebook and Google and Apple.

Nuking Iraq today might seem outlandish, so replace the scenario with Iran! If Iran attacks the US or Israel. Could we see something like this take place?

I hear that the series goes deeper into religious mythology so for this discussion, please just take the plan at face value. I don't care weather or not it works in the novels. I believe that this is a very reasonable plan for peace in the Middle East. Thoughts?

* LET'S PLEASE DEBATE THE STUFF IN THE THREAD. I HAVE SAID PLEASE LEAVE OUT THE RELIGIOUS MYTHOLOGY AND PLEASE TAKE YOUR HATRED FOR ISRAEL ELSEWHERE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF THREADS FOR THAT.

*THIS IS A DISCUSSION ABOUT PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONLY! I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR OPINIONS OF THE MAN HIMSELF, OR BANKERS, OR OIL LOBBYISTS.

This guy is an Evangelical Christian who founded the Joshua Fund,, so you can send money to Israel,, or if you want,,, go there... You can maybe sign up for this:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will begin hosting a regular Bible study group in his official residence for researchers, public officials and invited guests

they are studying the Book of Ruth.

I am wary of such prophets..... they usually only see WAR

and PROFIT for themselves.

Did you even read the OP? Maybe I should make some edits to the post. Please no anti-israel stuff. I want to discuss the topic at hand!

I think what Earth Citizen bought up, if correct, is pretty relevant.

Rightly so, Rosenberg is labelled as the modern day Nostradamus.

Why? Nostradamus got a hell of a lot more wrong than right anyway.

If you cannot handle questioning of your post and its content there is no point of posting on this site.

I DID read the whole piece,, and this is where I sense something afoot. Not intended to be anti Israel, just stating facts as I see.

For example,, you said this:

Rightly so, Rosenberg is labelled as the modern day Nostradamus. And is now a huge world wide celebrity in conservative politics claiming that he has fit together the pieces of the puzzle, using the book of Revelations in the bible along with stories ripped from the headlines. and to me,,, that is scary,,, basing our politics on Books of uncertain meaning. Oh,, and he is a known government insider? that too is scary. Given that he wrote of it all in advance, I knew, and I have always said,,, and said it NOT to be Anti Israel,,, but any country that has so much influence in MY COUNTRY is Suspect till proven otherwise.
Our Special Relationship is like two whores bedding down with a john (this being the Banks) to make peace with each other....and 'have each others back''

. not really great.

So,, again I list this as propaganda,, nothing personal to you or your thread.

So, if I am hearing you correct, you don't want to try the peace treaty because it was written by someone who has been right on more than one occasion, in a fictional way? What about dan brown? Many people enjoyed his books and they were fiction but based on truth as well. The Catholic Church went crazy trying to prevent people from reading them! Your argument is lacking. You are just scared to try something that might actually work...

Joel may have used parts of the book of Revelation in order to write his book, but if he really believes in what it says, he already knows that any peace plan with Israel will only last 3-1/2 years before it is broken. So, he already knows there is no long term remedy for peace. Regardless of oil, the fight between Israel and the Muslim nations is over the land of Israel itself. Not the oil. The land holds religious meaning to all, where money and wealth has no meaning or hold on it.

I like Rosenberg's books better than the Left Behind series. highly recmmend his works
isn't it something how that tiny part of the world is constantly on everyone's radar.
I'm guessing 'Iraq' is really Iran. any 12th Imam stuff in there?

No, more along the lines of what the next post after yours here said.

We might should aim higher than 3 1/2 years.
