So I got a call from a buddy of mine earlier today who was dead asleep when one of his family members woke him up around 11:50 pm. There were some very strange lights in the night sky, as you can see from the video. I'm not saying these are alien space craft but I just do not know what to make of it. He said there was absolutely no noise, and these lights started from the horizon and were moving in a linear path. They continued to fly over his house, this all lasted for about 20-30 mins until they all passed his house and were out of his line of site. This is a short clip, he took more but it is basically the same thing for ~20 minutes.

He told me he looked at the lights through a set of binoculars and when he focused on one of the lights it was really three lights forming a triangle. Since to the naked eye it the three lights look like a single light, it leads me to believe these are at high altitude.

What do you guys think this could possibly be?

Looks like Chinese lanterns.
Can't say for sure though.

That's the only thing that I can think of, given the complete silence. However if it was, wouldn't they have a tendency to drift a bit more, these seemed to be in some what of a formation. Also, I've never seen them in person before but do these lanterns have three lights in each one?

I don't know what it is but it sure isn't aliens.

My guess is there was probably something going on there that had people releasing things into the sky....

It also reminds me of birds in a light.I used to see stuff like that all the time when I'd go to the jersey shore. From the hotel looking towards the boardwalk up into the lights the seagulls used to look just like that. And before some clown comes in questioning me whether it was seagulls or not..yes I'm positive it was. They would move exactly like the "things" in the ops video.

Orange twinkly lights - check
Several of them, starting low on the horizon and rising slowly and steadily - check
Completely silent - check
lasts for about 20 minutes - check

Hmmm I wonder how this compares to the properties of Chinese lantern sightings?

Friend in Brussels, I'm back in the states currently. It was recorded on his android, he woke his entire family I believe so watch this. The more he describes it, the more it sounds like the Chinese lanterns.

I'm just very curious about hearing/reading what people think it could be, which is why I posted it here. Someone that he showed it to had suggested a meteor shower. However from what I've seen before, this looks nothing like a meteor shower. I've never seen Chinese lanterns in person so I'm not sure what they look like in the distance. The only thing I'm wondering about if it is in fact Chinese lanterns is when he said he looked at it through binoculars, each light was really three lights making up a triangle. Do typical Chinese lanterns have multiple light sources?

Russian lanterns... because the Chinese ones don't go all the way up =D.

flames a bit made in china though... weak little sparks =D if it was a soviet lantern you'd have a jet engine attached ='D just incase.

Sorry OP could not resist.
I agree 100% lanterns. even though not a craft or aliens, posting this up is what this is all about mate =D just incase xD!

Forgive my confusion but this video was posted to BaylorCamaro's YT. The description is written as if BaylorCamaro is the witness. I'm sure you can understand this appears a bit strange.

The first sentence in the description says "Friend woke up to this.." Surely you saw the first word "Friend" yes?

He filmed it on this Android cell phone (I believe) and showed it to me. I wanted to be able to post this online to get people's opinions, however when trying to upload to YouTube it was in a format that YouTube did not recognize. So I just played it and recorded it using Fraps, which is why the FPS is in the top right corner. This was easier than downloading a program to convert his raw video file.
