What "movies from the 1980s" are you talking about. I was referring to the REAL Christian Fundamentalists who insisted that rock and roll was "the devils music". Same thing goes for dancing. Lots of fundamentalists forbid their kids from dancing. Note: I'm not saying that ALL Christian Fundamentalists are that extreme, but some are. It sort of goes along hand, in hand with people who believe Jesus will come back and save his loyal followers and throw all the infidels down into a pit where they will burn forever.

Note that both come from the same naive, quaint, primitive mindset that you find in fanatics in all religions - not just the crazy fundamentalist sects in the US.

(And it certainly makes no difference to me how hip and cool you think you are telling us about your dancing LOL)

The phenomena is very real. Either your too closed minded to see it or your just too deceived by mainstream science to accept it or both. But there is plenty of credible testimony and physical evidence here and there as well.

I think closed minded is the proper term. There was a time in 1982 I was traveling from my daughter's home to our own house, on a long straight road. It was me, my son, and my ex-wife, one of these closed minds you speak of. We were going along, and suddenly a craft appeared, the light from it shined over the car, and we stopped to look at it. As we got out of the car, my son took his Mother's arm and made her get out too. We all three stood there and watched as it softly came down, near a wooded area, then just as fast, took off again. It was very bright, you just could not miss it. As it rose in the air, it suddenly took off like a shot, and within a millisecond, was gone. We got back in the car and drove on, my son and I discussing this phenomena. My son turned to his Mom in the back seat, and asked, "What did you think of that, Mom? To which she replied, "I didn't see a thing." "You guys are seeing things."

To this day, like most of the religious crowd, she thinks humans are the only living beings in the Universe, and that UFOs are non existing.

I think it has to do with two things, the age of the Spirit that resides in the person, mine is quite old, and I suspect yours is too, firegoggles, but some are quite young, and are just incapable of forming thought that could include new ideas. Then there is the Evolution of the Spirit. Some refuse to evolve, and live the same life over and over, for unknown reasons.

There isn't. The poster just made this up, I think. I have been studying this for many years, and have seen not one religious connotation in it, anywhere.

How do you know that "aliens" typically avoid genuine, practicing Christians? Please show us some scientific evidence to back this up. Or are you just relying on hearsay evidence - second, third hand stories that have no evidence to back them up?

I too would love to see the evidence for this. Christians get abducted alright, their memories are wiped after the experience. When I was in regression therapy, there were two stanch Christians there who regained memories of being abducted, a woman and a man. The woman reported she was shown an alien baby and told it was hers. When people say it doesn't happen to them because they are Christian, that is just wishful thinking.

I will acknowledge that most of the Christians I know do not believe in most of these "apocalyptic prophesies", so it certainly is possible to be a Christian and still maintain a rational and scientific approach to the world.

Is it? I have yet to see it in this forum. Most of the Christians in here, exceptions granted, you know who you are, swear that the Bible is the literal truth, and that is it.
