I think it gets down to the issue that one cannot serve two masters.

Most women tend to like to be told what to do, and men can do that without being a tyrant, but it allows one master.

Such is the way for the natural order of mankind, so it won't be torn to pieces by constant division.

I did bother to look up the issues of Amazons and have found the archiological records support this was happening in various fashion. So, it does appear to have happened.

Even the issues of Sparta happened, complete with underfeeding the males and over feeding the females.

yup, I'm the head of the other roosters and the hen is the head of the other hens, you have to have leadership, but together, we are able to lead our entire flock to happiness
