Ok, many of you know me as not being a frequent poster in this forum but I do read the threads and watch the vids of UFO reports. Many quite convincing and many...well not so much. So please excuse me if this comes off as a stupid question but I can't come up with an answer for myself and so I turn to the experts...

Why do UFO's need lights on their crafts? I can understand that there could be many reasons for this. Signalling each other, communicating in a Morse code like fashion. Maybe even useful at their own base as a means to land, light up the area and so on.

But why here? Why in our skies? We have all seen the photos of earth from space and we are lit up like a Christmas tree at night. Even our aircraft don't use such bright lights while in flight but only when landing...at night.

And yet so many vids show UFO's lit up during the day, flashing lights at night etc. It's certainly not needed to see us from the sky and definitely not the best way to go unnoticed if that's the goal.

Anyways, just thought I'd ask others as to what their theories are concerning this. And they are theories because we certainly won't know for a fact until contact has been made and someone shouts "Dude! Turn off your brights!"

Not looking for S&F in this but rather just an honest curiosity as to what others may think.

I am no expert though but if a craft is shining a light in your direction it is usually trying to get your attention...

Maybe they are not lights but we pick up the energy it is giving off as those colours? Or is that against physics or something?

the lights are simply there as a signal to get the camera out and start filming whilst shaking and struggling to remain in focus.

Biggest theory on this is that a big 'light' on a UFO would be a means of propulsion. I agree though, not sure why a UFO would have little flashing lights or whatever.

I was trying to think what we would do if we flew a craft round another planet Mars for example. We would have bright spot lights if it was dark but otherwise no lights.

I don't know about the lights, but I've always wondered why no clothes. Surely the little guys get cold now and then...

Hmmm... good question! I wonder if it has to do with something like was shown in "Close Encounters"? You know, how sound and color go hand-in-hand, for different frequencies, like a universal language maybe? No matter where we're from, color and music (rhythm) are universal, maybe literally. So, maybe the lights are more for communicative purposes for us, rather than each other, in order to convey ideas or feelings. Many people claim that they have "found" ufos by shining flashlights in the sky, clicking on and off, and the lights follow the peoples' patterns. Maybe color is psychological, like red is "bad" or threatening, blue and green calming, etc. or maybe the color of the lights are like the colors of our flags associated with our countries and designate certain races, etc.?

Its because they are NOT ALIEN craft, they originate from earth and therefore need lights to avoid collision and for identification purposes.

One day when we're all locked down we'll see the elite using them like cars. BUT WE WONT BE ALLOWED THEM.

Ah but perhaps they didn't eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge and therefore they do not know they are naked?

I've always considered conspicuously flashy near begging for attention type ufo with too many lights accounts and video as a little too conspicuous.

Other than the thought that some steady bright lights could simply be a byproduct of any speculated propulsion system, anything extra, from either a stealthy alien craft, or super secret government Black Project standpoint doesn't really stand up with any kind of verisimilitude in my book.

It's just took look-at-me conspicuous where if any such wanted to actually be seen, it'd just be a matter of landing anywhere, popping out and saying 'hello' to the locals.

I've of the opinion that most (not necessarily all) blinky light type ufos are not by any means of any origin other than the backyard/garage variety.

so they don't hit any deer !!!

I love questions like this and the people that have the cahounnies to put em out there after they think of em.

And still follow the guidelines of course.

From what I have read this is the way that they will disclose themselves, by slowly and gently raising the awareness of the people to the point that they will be able to handle contact. Just think what would happen if they were just to show up on the White House lawn, it would be complete pandemonium!

Ha! Based on the videos I have seen, I think you are spot on!

maybe we give ufo's to much credit. we think they have advanced sensors that can detect anything around them, but in reality they are as much as risk as anything up in the air to dangers.

my theory is so they can be seen when they want to be.
