I posted on someone else's thread a while back ago concerning military activity in their area. So I thought I would keep a tally of activity in my area, especially when it seems like it has picked up pace.
In the last 3 weeks I have counted groups of 3 C-130's make approach to the near by air field, this occured 29 times each group containing 3 C-130 aircract.
MIlitary Helicoptor activity is on going and I stopped trying to keep track. The helicoptor approaches Involve Chinhooks and Black Hawks.
HEre is more data pertaining to the destination approach of these aircraft.

It probably nothing, but activity has picked up so it has sparked my interest.

There are quite a few military installations in the area. I would assume it is related to them. I wouldn't really be to concerned about it. If I posted every time I saw a military plane I would make 10 new threads a day.

Worry when they come down your street in a tank, or set up road blocks in your town....

I posted a link so anyone who sees "military action" can look at this map and see that every state has several military posts. Don't freak out yet people.

There has been a rise in military aircraft and land vehicles as well in my area. I live just south of you.

The increase here is because of large amounts of new recruits and training exercises. Gotta remember that a lot of kids are graduating HS this time of year and that means an increase in military activity locally.

So I bet it's nothing....but keep us informed. You never know.

Good point. Ive lived here for years and never have they been so active, so my motives for concern are pure. Thank you for your input.

I also live near a few military installations and feel like I know their frequency. However I also know that bases increase activity during war games and training operations. Even though you may see them everyday you have no idea when they are training and therefore an increase in training activity may be suspicious to a person not in the know. While I do appreciate everyone keeping an eye out for "SHTF" I have to agree with sheepslayer247 on this one. Probably just getting ready for the new recruits.....

Ive seen some c-130's up here in duluth recently. usually they are doing touch and go training at the 148th. one weird thing that I remember a couple summers ago was when I was on top of Mesaba Avenue, and I see a chinook land at the bayfront park on the grass. 6 local squads pull up to it with a couple black SUV's. I couldnt tell what was really going on, or who was down there because I was too far away. but either way, that was some odd activity for duluth. anyhow, I will keep my ear to the ground up this way, and post if I see anything worthy of posting.

Squads? Interesting, especialy since the posse comitatus act is still in force. I understand people want to buy some things off as nothing, however there is something going on. Objective evidence reveals that the military is preparing for something. One would argue "they always do" but in light of my conversations with memebers of the military, my own father who is a marine and his hush hush attitude, evidence in print (I.E. internment camp specialist, and fedral military assignments with in the U.S.) there is no denying that the government is concerned about something. I dont know what it is, Im not a fear mongerer, Im just observing and reporting. Ive seen the rate of Military activity during training, and this is different. But we can never be sure. We are only memebers of the control grid and never controllers of it.

All I really know is....Ill be ready.

I'm in the Almelund area here in Minnesota and Ive noticed allot of helicopter activity in my area over the last few weeks and Ive noticed heavy transport aircraft also..
They have been flying over on an average of 4 times a week during the day and almost every night ..
So the activity has picked up allot more then the usual fly overs..peace,sugarcookie1

Not quite in your area but this might have something to do with it. Noticed on Guidedkill's base map there are quite a few ANG in your area, mayhap they're practicing too?

Air Force Reservists, National Guard, fly to fight wildfires with Forest Service

Also stumbled onto this the other day while I was searching for something else. Scary....the bloody thing goes on with very detailed info.....maybe that's why they are pumping up the training? According to he FBI...

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has released issue 9 of its English-language “Inspire” Magazine. There is a portion of the magazine dedicated to attacking the United States by starting wildfires. The article instructs the audience to look for two necessary factors for a successful wildfire, which are dryness and high winds to help spread the fire.

I thought I would let some time pass to rule anything out, and yet still to this day, especially all night last night it was constant helicoptor fly overs. South Saint Paul Area, I checked with the local PD and it is not training, since one of the police officers used to be stationed at the local base there. He has no clue what they are doing now and why they are so busy and have recieved noise complaints due to it.

Im not trying to revise an old thread just updating everyone like I said I would.
