I need suggestions to what this is- (Sunrise Pic)

I seen the weirdest thing in the sky this morn as I was driving to work. Cruising down the highway, I can see the sky so well in front of me, as it goes from black (I leave before sunrise) to a nice sunrise. And today wasn't any different, except for the fact that a portion of the sky looked as if it were still dark, or shadowed. And the odd thing was it was like a pillar of shadow straight out of the skyline.
I have no idea what could cause this or if it actually normal?
It looked like something was blocking the sun from that part in the sky-

Looks to me like layers of cloud. Winds aloft could easily create the line.

maybe...

...it's a very high altitude chemtrail, stretching to and past the horizon, that is casting a straight line shadow upon the lower lying clouds. sounds far fetched but you never know...


...or maybe it's just some normal clouds.

(both explanations just as likely as the other...)

that's strange to me. i'm not going to say there is some conspiracy explanation.... i just think it's odd. i wonder what caused that (my assumption is that it's natural causes i just don't know what those causes are)

I had the same Eerie sky this morning too - I know what you mean and lots of red clouds. The sun was lower in the sky than usual for the time but I just put it down to atmospheric conditions however, it was really strange.

This is probably( at first sight) a shadow of a denser cloud in front of the sun( from your point of view).

I'm more concerned that you take pictures while driving on the highway... Also, clouds. Actually I'm more concerned you didn't think it was clouds. Just kidding. Cool picture though.

Man those pictures above my post are awesome! I need to start using the new camera I bought.

It's the shadow of a cloaked alien mothership flying below the cloud.

Duh....What else could it be?
