In personal opinion I feel that their is no such thing as "the ideal reactor". All of them will have problems eventually;
it will just come down to what reactor can last longer. That and many of other factors including how safe it is, the energy output, blah blah blah.
We should just go ahead and stop releasing old technology and go for the cleaner, renewable, and free energy systems that have been kept from us since forever.

Although I'm sure TPTB won't let that happen.

The problem with Free Energy technologies is they are always 5 years away or the inventors are dodgy antisocial whackjobs who want you to pay them before they'll disclose anything.

Contrast this with clean abundant nuclear which is here right now and further is reliable enough to be a baseload generator for a technologically advanced society. Bottom line is we need nuclear if we want to continue moving forward technologically and as a society.
