Geez kids!!

Obviously anyone here who would rather side with and become Iranian or Chinese hasnt visted either country. What a joke.

Oh yeah, the entire premise is predicated on a falsehood anyway. No other military on the planet has the hardware or logistics to mount a cross seas invasion of America. Being on this side of the pond gives America a HUGE geographical edge not to mention the US's military advantage itself.

Really? You must be a baby boomer.

The country pretty much f&^%ing sucks for everyone else.

I am pretty confident that I could get five of them. Assuming there is another million American citizens that could take out five bad guys, it is safe to say that we could handle this before our military even lifts a finger, and maybe their time could be better used to plant the 'Stars and Stripes' in downtown Beijing.

Why would I have to go anywhere for those things? We already have all of those things RIGHT HERE. The numbers don't lie. We live in a police state. NORTH KOREA has less people in prison.

That's the point. Wake up. We aren't "losing our freedoms" or "moving towards socialism or fascism". IT'S ALREADY HERE.

Head down to the creek that runs through the back of the farm, they'd never find me out here in the boonies anyway... after that, it would depend on whether they were trying to take us over or help us revolt, who was in charge at the time, what kind of atrocities were being committed... if we were still the USA and still abiding by the Constitution, I'd fight, if it were anything like the previous regime that came very close to martial law, I may join them and take our country back.
Defend the Constitution, not the political party or the president, the Constitution is what makes us who we are.

Ah why it doesn't baffles me? The always present america overtrust in technology! History proven over and over again that superior technology is NOT a decisive factor in any war. Some "wannabe clever dudes" here will ask for examples, well, 911 was one of them. Suposedly a couple of dudes hijacked airplanes right under NORAD's nose and used them very well. NORAD is so called, the most advanced defense system in the world, even so, it failed miserably, not once, but 3 times. This scenario assuming that 911 was a real thing, not an inside job, as I believe it was.

Well, you guys are all thinking of ONE single country invading, what if the attack is perpetrated by a combination of countries plus a few "traitors" inside USA?

Have you ever considered that right beneath your city there may be a nuke ready to be detonated? You're always thinking that attacks are what US does and there are no variations. Well, have I got news for you, if some crazy dude in power really wanted to wipe out america, he would not think in attacking the same way america is used to fight, he would rather use different aproaches, like chemical or bio weapons. They would first cause disorder inside, make things go really bad and just then, a regular military offensive. Imagine the attack is some sort of virus that kills and infest the whole country. What will rest to be defended? A wasteland lethal to any human being? Where not a single lizard could live? What will the precious and so called "unbeatable" drones worth if there is nobody to defend or even operate them? The "not-so-high-tech" Iranians managed to get hack one of them and landed it, remember?

The weakness of america is the overtrust in technology and that is the point to be explored by someone willing to attack. There are several devices out there able to emit a very strong EMP, that alone, will be enough to turn all those precious high-tech toys into fancy paperweights. And without this, the average american soldier is nothing more than a frightened man.

The only 'wannabe clever dude' thus far in this thread is the one who apparently absconded with your humility and keyboard then wrote your reply....

Throughout military history the side with Superior technology, Innovations and Tactics have very often won wars and or battles. Your claim that 'superior technology is NOT a decisive factor in any war' betrays your ignorance on the subject. Research military conquests and innovations. Not all Technological advantages come Microchip equipped.

Ancient Egypt and what affect the introduction of the "Chariot" had in battles with their enemies.

Chariots Ancient Egypt
Ramses II fighting from a chariot at the Battle of Kadesh with two archers, one with the reins tied around the waist to free both hands (relief from Abu Simbel)

Byzantine Empire and how "Greek Fire" sank whole fleets.

Greek fire
Greek fire was an incendiary weapon used by the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantines typically used it in naval battles to great effect as it could continue burning while floating on water. It provided a technological advantage, and was responsible for many key Byzantine military victories, most notably the salvation of Constantinople from two Arab sieges, thus securing the Empire's survival.

Phalanx and the crushing of larger forces..

Phalanx Formation
The early history of the phalanx is largely one of combat between hoplite armies from competing Greek city-states. The usual result was rather identical, inflexible formations pushing against each other until one broke. The potential of the phalanx to achieve something more was demonstrated at Battle of Marathon (490 BC). Facing the much larger army of Darius I, the Athenians thinned out their phalanx and consequently lengthened their front, to avoid being outflanked. However, even a reduced-depth phalanx proved unstoppable to the lightly armed Persian infantry.

English/Welsh Longbow killed at much greater distances

English/Welsh Lonbow
The longbow decided many medieval battles fought by the English, the most significant of which were the Battle of Crécy (1346) and the Battle of Agincourt (1415), during the Hundred Years' War and followed earlier successes, notably at the Battle of Halidon Hill (1333) during the Scottish wars.

Not to mention all other examples of Technology, Innovations and newer battle tactics which have carried armies to victories in the long extensively documented history of wars, battles, conquests and campaigns.

Spain's conquest of the New World with Guns and Steal
Spain conquered numerous Native American Empires [Bringing old world diseases with them helped a great deal] with Gun powder, Steal and the Horse.

The American Ironclads
The American Civil war introduced two Naval innovations which stopped all the Great European Naval powers in their tracks. The Southern Confederate States introduced the advantages of Slopped armor and the Northern Union States introduced the world's first effective rotating turret. Forever changing the way Naval battles would be fought.

Germany's Blitzkrieg which conquered most of Europe before the allies could respond.
Poland. France and many others at the time had no answer to this new type of innovative offensive doctrine employing new state of the art [For the Period] military technology and tactics.

The weakness of america is the overtrust in technology and that is the point to be explored by someone willing to attack.

The weakness of your argument is its total lack of historical comprehension of facts, context and the basic and rudimentary understanding of the subject matter being discussed.
But, I digress.

There are several devices out there able to emit a very strong EMP, that alone, will be enough to turn all those precious high-tech toys into fancy paperweights.

I just love it when the self-righteous misinformed EMP advocates paint themselves into a corner. Do you honestly think that You, Russia, China or anybody else for that matter are the only ones who are aware of the advantage of the use of such a weapon and or device?

There always seems to be one in the crowd who thinks they have the "Inside scoop" on a secret EMP weapon that will disable a modern army. [Usually those who played too many computer games as "Commander" over GPU generated pixel armies] Do you think the US military that you yourself said relies too much on technology that they couldn't possibly know about or conceive of EMP weapons [not to mention having ever used such a device]?

Have you ever wondered why in Gulf War I whole columns of Iraqi vehicles just suddenly stopped [Never Veering but a few feet from the road ] then had themselves decimated from the air?

I don't know about you but, if I were in the column and saw vehicles being shot to hell a few kilometers up ahead or in my rear view mirror I would have driven off into the desert away from the carnage. [Unless of course for some strange reason my engine just mysteriously cut out and died]

And without this, the average american soldier is nothing more than a frightened man.

Tell that to the Imperial Japanese or later the Vietcong which both learned to respect the American soldier [esp. the US Marines] in the too numerous to mention hellacious close quarters toe to toe battles fought in the dense jungles where technology and military material were pretty much worthless.

Yes please, continue posting as if you have a clue.

The bombs that were dropped on Nagaskai and Hiroshima were superior technology that put a quicker end to the war.

If we were allowed the full arsenal of the American military, the Afghan war would be over by the weekend.

I really do think that the last and only war Amerca was allowed to use both hands to fight was world war 2.

A lot of people seem to forget that Americans have always fought with one hand tied behind their back since.

So long as "survivor", "american idol", and "M*A*S*H reruns" are still on TV, most Americans probably wouldn't notice or care about a foreign invader.

For folks who say no other country has the military might to take on the USA, you need to look at your history.

Since World War 2, USA hasn't really won any major conflict, other than Iraq, which was against a poorly trained, poorly equipped military.

Yeah we know our history:

Korea Macarthur pushed the north all the way to the Chinese border then Truman said bad Douglass and told him to go stand in a corner and tied his hands behind his back

Vietnam same thing they kicked butt and then Johnson said no no don't beat them up Russia might cry.

Gulf war 1 we kicked butt agian and the the arab countries said no no stop winning!

Gulf war 2 same damn thing arab countries said no no no stop winning

The common thread there is a bad case of every other problem in this country a bad case of liberalitis.

America would crush any nation
in the world. Anyone who thinks other
wise is foolish. No country in the world
would get away with attacking america.
Everyone dies in worse case scenario
but they will never make us slaves.
America has more tech 40 years in
the future. It will be 40 years before
we even see this stuff. America at this
point and time would wipe out anyone
who attacked.
