Senate passes Iran sanctions bill

www.cnn.com

Passage came after senators agreed to add language warning that military force would be an option available to the United States if Iran seeks to build a nuclear weapon. But the measure also states that nothing in the legislation authorizes military action.

I think this is just one in a long line of things that have been leading up to WWIII. ATS has been following the situation in Iran very closely, and I just don't think it is going to end well for anybody.

Now they have added language that military force can be used. We all knew this, but now it is in writing.

We are just one step closer to all out war with Iran.

"Today the Senate has showed we can still act in a bipartisan way on important priorities," said Sen. Tim Johnson, D-South Dakota, the chairman of the Senate banking committee.

Right. Important matters. Like trying to start more multi-trillion dollar wars of aggression against sovereign countries.

ETA:

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul insisted on language that explicitly noted that nothing in the bill "shall be construed as a declaration of war or an authorization of the use of force" against either Iran or Syria, an Iranian ally now fighting a popular uprising against its government. Paul, the son of two-time GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, was pleased by the bill's passage, spokeswoman Moira Bagley told CNN.

Sigh. Rand. WTF?

Here's what your father said 6 months ago:

Unwilling to back down from the growing criticism that his foreign policy would be “dangerous,” Ron Paul told voters in Iowa that western sanctions against Iran are “acts of war” that are likely to lead to an actual war.

Paul said that Iran would be justified in responding to sanctions by blocking the Straits of Hormuz, adding that the country blocking the strategically important strait is “so logical” since they have no other recourse.

He then compared the situation to China blocking off the Gulf of Mexico to trade.

Iran don't care about sanctions.

They remember when we moved all their people to California.

Israel is very determined to get us in yet another war in the Middle East. I will get called a racist for saying this but, oh well.
Israel (and the US as well ) is the single greatest obstacle to peace in this world, as well as the single greatest threat the world has seen since 1938

With all the Israeli lapdogs we have in our government it's not that much of a shock this went through. Yes let's see how many Americans we can get killed for Israel. These traitors should pack their bags and get out of America and move to Israel then they can fight along side of Israel. That's if Israel can ever summon the balls to attack Iran.

A very sad state we are in that we seriously have forgotten how to live in peace. When fighting for something pure has turned into a lucrative buisness, very sad we all knew this was going to happen and yet it still let it get to this point. I fear for soldiers not just from from our end but there end as well ,cause" WAR "effects everyone! Didn't hear this on the news thanks for heads up.

Sigh, thats kind of disappointing, especially since I am assuming that Ron is not really serious about his campaign but is using the opportunity to get his sons name well known among his followers.

Sanctions are an act of war. Sanctions were put on Japan to force them to respond. Sanctions were placed on Iraq for 10 years before an attack after the 1991 attack.

Sanctions are the first step towards war. We need to remove the zionists in our government, vote them out!

What do you guys think the time table is for an all out invasion of Iran, either by NATO, US, Israel? Do we have any gamblers on here that want to start an over/under?

If anyone does not think that sanctions are an act of war, what would happen if a person blocked someones road to their house not letting them get to work or perform business trade to make a living. Act of war, plain and simple.

IF, I were to guess, I would say that it would happen a couple of months before the presidential election.
Conflict and strife always seem to help out the in-cum-bent.

Well, Rand Paul thinks that as long as you 'say' its not an act of war, it isnt. Even as Mitch McConnel says "All options are on the Table".

It tends to be pretty accurate. Check out all the different elections bets and the like.
