Yep, I heard it today from Alex. For those who don't know, the movie Red Dawn was made in the 80s, and was based around the idea of a third world war, and America being invaded by Cubans and Russians. In the new remake, the invaders of America are Communist Chinese. But, for some reason, they're trying to cancel the movie all together, or spend a million dollars or so editing the movie to make the invaders North Koreans instead of Chinese. That's weird... especially because so many of our businesses are being moved to China, and the Chinese are purchasing businesses, theaters, and properties in America...

The following is from collider.com...

"The upcoming remake of the 1984 action flick Red Dawn had changed the lead communist villain from Russia to China. But MGM, the studio behind the remake, has concluded that China, commie as they may be, still offers the possibility of lucrative international box office. With this in mind, the studio is making it so that the country who invades the U.S. this time around is…North Korea. The LA Times reports:

The filmmakers now are digitally erasing Chinese flags and military symbols from “Red Dawn,” substituting dialogue and altering the film to depict much of the invading force as being from North Korea, an isolated country where American media companies have no dollars at stake.

Hit the jump for more on this silly change. The remake of Red Dawn stars Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

red-dawn-remake-posterAccording to the LA Times, MGM has begun showing the film to potential buyers at other studios, but executives are reportedly concerned that they can’t risk picking it up because of the potential blowback from China, which raked in $1.5 billion for studios in international box office revenue last year.

I sense another cover-up. Of course it's a million more times likely for us to go to war with China than it is to go to war with North Korea, but China is putting pressure on us not to release the film the way it was originally made, because it 'offends them.' I was really excited to see it too, but they ruined the movie...

Edit: I might not have been clear enough in the original posting. I believe that, relating to the fact that we're in debt with a very strong, closet communist country, who is buying more and more of our banks, businesses, theaters, and properties, I feel like it's very likely that, if we have a world war three, it will more than likely involve China. I also believe that the US government is in on it, so sure, they're gonna bow to the Chinese when they order the Americans to ruin the movie, and make sure there isn't too much reality in it. Reality is bad for the public. Everyone knows that.

Anyway, whaddo you think?

Its all about the money. There is far to much revenue in China to make them the enemy in a movie like this. Thats all it comes down to.

Why is it "a million times more likely for us to go to war with China than it is to go to war with NK"? This statement makes absolutely no sense.

I think this news has been around for a year or more, and I think the eventual reasoning was economic. They might want to sell this movie in China! It wouldn't do too well if it made the Chinese out to be the bad guys. Of course, it won't do to well in the US if it isn't somewhat realistic, so NK invading the US mainland is pretty stupid. Without a convenient boogeyman like the USSR, there movie is doomed anyway.

How is this a coverup? What exactly are they covering up?

All this comes down to is which story will sell more tickets.

Provided they are even allowed to watch the movie to begin with.

Interesting note; China just purchased AMC.

China’s largest entertainment group agreed to buy AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (AMC) for $2.6 billion including debt, expanding into the U.S. to create the world’s biggest cinema owner.

I know this kind of thing may be better suited on a conspiracy websi-. . . . . .

I think they should have made the bad guys Canadian. You know building up a secret underground army on the border for years. Freeze drying back bacon and having huge amounts of poutine on hand and ready to twist American minds to our form of feudal communism, err, I mean socialism. Instead of using bullets, we could have darts filled with Canada Club Rye Whiskey to soften up our military targets and get them saying things like, "eh?" and they would already be lost! We could go in and burn down the White House a third time LOL. At least we're close by and share a border and how much money can a movie studio get out of Canada anyway?

North Korea is unrealistic, if they landed a million guys here, as soon as they saw all the peeler bars, Wal-marts and fast food places, they would all defect. Especially if they were told minimum wage was more than a couple of bucks a day.

Canada is a better choice and anyway, they could make it a comedy at the same time and garner a bigger share of potential audiences.

Cheers - Dave

Wouldn't it be easier to just change the ending? Have China victorious, that would keep them happy

Exactly.
China a huge trading partner, and they're also immigrating into North America, and I doubt the new immigrants want to be seen as the enemy. That doesn't do much for relations.

They aren't completely communists anymore, and they're not the enemy.
They're communist capitalist socialists. Sort of.

We're in a lot of debt and we have a lot of fragile ties with China, but the same can't be said for North Korea. We're in a lot of sensitive situations with a huge, military advanced, communist country. That's why it's more likely we'd have a beef with them rather than NK.

Might as well face it. Even the Russians like the first one. It showed they could hold out in the US, even though they lost in the movie.

North Korea isnt going to hack it this time. I would look for alien flags on this one.

Its all thats selling right now.

Maybe a remake of Canadian Bacon?

en.wikipedia.org...

The President of the United States (Alan Alda) has not led his country into war, and his approval rating falls. His National Security Advisor Stuart Smiley (Kevin Pollak) suggests Canada as a new enemy, based on a news segment about a brawl between Canadians and Americans over national beer preference. A local American sheriff, Bud Boomer (John Candy), who was responsible for the brawl, is caught up in the idea of invading Canada and leads fellow Americans into the country to commit the "most serious of all" Canadian crimes, littering! The so-called invasion is foiled, but, because of Boomer's actions, the fabricated war turns into a real one.

The fact that it's kind of likely that we would have problems with China in the future, so of course they wouldn't want to broadcast it in a movie. The USA is in on it too, they know what's gonna happen, so they'll play ball and ruin the movie.

Wow, that's great news, perhaps you should inform its citizens who are still subject to forced abortion, religious persecution, and state run everything, not to mention a buildup in military power that is unprecedented

Considering the Chinese are building a city in Idaho it might be too close to the truth thus the change. The Chinese are taking over, they're just not using the military to do it - only our greed.
North Koreans?

Oh, I get it now - they snuck in acting as Chinese.

Capitalist economics, and a mix of communistic socialism.....
They can't be complete communists, there are too many really rich Chinese coming into North America.

And yes, they're building up their military too. Everyone is.

I remember in the 80's and early 90's when there was a big craze about how the Japanese were buying up everything and invading the US. They owned some percentage of Manhatten Island, and they were buying up corporations and real estate like gangbusters!

Now it is the Chinese, but in reality this all helps the US. Let them sink their investment money into our country, just like we are sinking our investment money into the Afghanistan, but when the locals have had enough, they just throw us out, and we're left holding the bag. That is what will eventually happen to China or whatever boogeyman is the flavor of the decade. They can keep spending money here, but they'll never actually possess the real estate except on paper.
