San Diego deputy shoots man acting erratically, page 1

A San Diego County sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man Sunday afternoon after he threatened officers with a large stick or broom, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

This is just crazy! The officer couldn't have just backed up until more help arrived. He could have at least attempted to tase or pepper spray the man before using his sidearm. I'm sure there are several people on ATS that have been threatened with a large stick or broom at some point during their life.

I completely support officers who "NEED" to use lethal force, but this is just pushing it too far,
