Karwendler Plattler from Scharnitz in Tirol.

The main theme of the dance appears to be becoming eligible for marriage through learning a practical trade (in a historic context).

Despite this, there are parts of this dance that appear somehow archaic and timeless.

Amon Düül II - Wolf City (1972)

Wolf City, you're a pearl without pity
Your glory is like ice cream dripping on the skin of a girl
And your voodoo-graph is going to conquer the world
While the greyhound leans back in the president's chair
Thousands of children on their way home gasp for fresh air
Your servants set up a lean-horse-monument
In the alleys of cars, a queue with no end
And thousands of cows rush into bars
On a wall I see many strange signs
They say: Johnny B. Goode!

Die Aerste - Junge.

A typical parental rant at a young man, with a touch of irony: when the dyed hair and attempts at schooling are gone, then isn't one just as old and lame as the authorities?

VoXXclub - Rock Mi and live folk hits on a game show.

The male vocal group that made traditional dance and dress unapologetically "cool".

One of my favorite clips or records ever.

German songs and marches.

Apart from being great music, I guess it also reminds the listener of how miraculous and historically strange the lack of territorial war has been in central Europe since World War II.
Many of these songs go back a century, when war in one's lifetime was basically guaranteed.
The songs have a haunting quality as both militaristic, but also highlighting a fate as a soldier that seems somehow unnecessary and filled with pathos.
They speak of both pride and suffering in implied ways, and of course many German people grew up with them as traditional.
