How about you stop the whinging WA and share the wealth with all Australians, we're in this together and the whole country needs infrastructure upgrades, not just WA.
However, I do agree that VIC and NSW seem to always get more than their share so that needs to be rectified.

That's the problem right there, the East Coast of Australia is full of free loading boat people and non-Australian born leeches who have this "hand out" mentality. They just keep taking so long as we keep giving, we should align ourselves with China and split from the Commonwealth as well. Bring some much needed balance to the Geo-Political landscape that the Yanks have carved out for us.

Booo hOoo poor western Australia.

This is nothing more than political rhetoric and greed grabbing.

Back in the Early 2000's Australia introduced a tax called the GST. It is 10%. All the states were meant to stop thier states tax on many things and instead receive the GST. The states never stopped the states tax, but also received the GST because the states cried poor. Well the poor Australian Citizens got the finger yet again.

WA "receeding" is a joke and will never happen. Political Pandering is all this is. Nothing to see here, move along.

Although I like Aussies...I believe that they tend to fight amongst themselves a bit too much.

No, you just don't understand the Aussie persona. When we fight, it's tongue in cheek, no real aggression (apart from the usual percentage of douchebags that every country has of course)

For Australia to become Great in areas that are a necessity to develop an area that is extremely under developed...they need to pick up the pace.

Nope, i like our pace. I don't want to live in a factory and work for $5 a day like the Chinese... sorry.

So Australia is also VASTLY UNDERPOPULATED.

You do realise that the entire interior of Australia in uninhabital desert.. don't you? I think our population is just fine thanks, i like that i can walk to a suburban beach and not have to fight crowds just for a spot to put my towel.

This is what Australia needs...

What Australia needs is to be left the **** alone so we can continue being Australian. But thanks for your opinion

Actually...Australia had a choice...Gough Whitlam dedicated Australia to signing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Once Australia signed this...it recieved advanced Nuclear Tech. for the building of Electrical Generating Nuclear Reactors. But by signing the NPT...it gave up it's right to develop Nuclear Weapons as well as sell Nuclear Tech.

There was a Multi-Decade Debate over whether Australia should develop Nuclear Weapons and after Astralian Studies were done that indicated it did not have a technical ability to properly develop Thermonuclear Bombs that were to be air dropped from purchased U.S. F-111's a Very Fast intermediate sized Fighter Bomber...the Australians themselves decided to sign the NPT.

Previous to this...U.S. Defense Secretary Robert MacNamara was asked by some Australian Officials what the U.S. policy would be if Australia developed Nuclear Bombs...MacNamara replied that although the U.S. would prefer Australia to sign the NPT...the issue was an Australian decision.

In an even more BIZZAR Matter At a crowded public seminar at the Australian National University in September 1964, an ANU international relations specialist, Professor A. L. Burns, suggested that either Britain or America should hand over immediately 'for our sovereign disposal' a stockpile of atomic or thermonuclear bombs.

So Australia made it's own decision and although Australia does not have Nukes...the U.S. Military would defend Australia without a moment of debate or disent. This is happening RIGHT NOW as the U.S. has several Carrier Groups in the region to shoot down or rather detonate any North Korean ICBM...which are all pieces of S#!% and are so innacurate that even if North Korea was purposely targeting an area of Ocean near Australia...this ICBM that is made of Heavy Materials as well as even with a dummy warhead...once it re-enters Earths Atmosphere it will obtain enough kinetic energy to be able to wipe out several city blocks upon a possible uncontrolled decent that could strike the Austraian Mainland.

The U.S. Naval Carriers as well as one of their escort ships an AEGIS CLASS CRUISER is equipt with the NEW VERSION of the SM-3 Missle that has now been converted by a breakthrough in Solid Fuel as well as Super Computer Targeting and Aquisition...can strike this ICBM while still in low orbit thus detonating the fuel safely. A test a short time ago demonstrated how an SM-3 was able to Kill a Satellite traveling in Earths Orbit at a rate of 28 Thousand Miles Per Hour. This was done as the Satellite was loosing altitude and had a tank of HYDROZINE...an extremely Toxic Fuel used for Boosting Satellite positioning. The SM-3 scored a direct hit which detonated the Hydrozine tank. The Australian Government has asked the U.S. Navy to stand ready to destroy this planned North Korean ICBM test if U.S. Space command determines the ICBM has become a threat to Australia and it will be destroyed. Actually...I have Australian Freinds and....associates so I believe I have a fairly good understandingof Australian Mentality. I actually enjoy it and the one of the toughest people I know through me out of a Bar on early morning as I was unusually Drunk as I find it hard to get drunk because of my muscle mass and the fact I run.

Muscle metabolizes alcohol at a rate many times faster than FAT and I am usually impervious to drinking...but this Aussie had me drinking some kind of Moonshine and after a few word were said that I probably shouldn't have said...were said...next thing I knew I was in the dust outside.

After SHE picked me up...LOL! I found out another aspect of Australia from a Female perspective....that being...Aussie Women LOVE MEN who can take a punch! LOL! She also showed me the ugliest Bedroom wallpaper I have ever seen! LOL! Split Infinity

Oh...and we have Massive Deserts in the U.S....we have turned much of them into lush Farmland as well as Las Vegas! LOL! Seriously....Australia could tap underground aquifers that would allow development into farmland or commercial Real Estate.

The U.S. also has VAST WILDERNESS areas of such a scope that huge zones have never had a Human Foot touch. Add to this Canada...which by the way...shares the Worlds Longest Unprotected Boarder with the U.S. and all one needs to do is show an enhanced Drivers License and you are in.

The State of Alaska alone is about 1 fifth or sixth of the entire Area of Australia....so Australia at about 3 Million Square Kilometers with a population tht ranks 52nd in the World that number being smaller or about the same as one single U.S. State and there are 4 U.S. States that are about the same in population....4 out of 50 as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, and a whole lot of other U.S. Territories where the people are ALL U.S. CITIZENS....means that Australia....needs a population of about 175 MILLION to be able to fend for herself. Spliting up would be a TRAGEDY for the whole country!

As far as EXCUSES of the MAN HOLDING YOU DOWN....Puuullleeezzzzze! The ONLY THING holding down Australia is Australians! AND WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND ON EVERYTHING?!?
We were originally a British Colony. They tried to TAX us without giving us representation. Thus the Boston Tea Party and eventually we Kicked them out with the help of the French. But we certainly wouldn't place a King or Queen of Englands picture on our Money.

For GOD SAKES...they sent the first of you there as a place so far away from England that the original Criminals and I know some were not but instead just spoke their mind...would NEVER be able to get back...yet what is with the Royalty Worship? Split Infinity

Well, either way if you Aussies decide to erupt into a civil war before the US does, I hope you actually pursue and destroy the real root of your problems.
Not each other.

www.gopetition.com... We are using this link to coordinate petitions never intended to reach Parliament. They are going to be used to get ALL the Unions on board for a day of Global Non Compliance.

Hey Split, Good point on the deserts, theres only one problem.

You know when you see or read descriptions of California or Nevada, how hot it is in the Desert, then as you drive your car up the Mountains!!, there is snow and everything on top of the mountain?

Well Imagine the California or Nevada desert WITHOUT mountains...then you have a better idea of a REAL Desert.

Mountains make Rain, Rain is Water.

No Mountains NO Rains...(Until exceptional seasons very occasionally).

The reason the saltlakes in Australia have water in them atm (these are below sea level btw) is because of the rains and floods 2000 MILES AWAY!! that eventually feeds small creeks etc to the salt lakes.

Unfortunately, Australia is Geographically very Stable, Which means we have NO current Volcanoes, No huge continental plate shift, No recent (geographically) Mountain ranges, and a very eroded landscape...

The North American continent, has Huge Mountain ranges thru California (Sierra Nevadas?), thru Nevada, The East coast, Canada etc etc.
Australia has one small mountain range on the East coast, that receives snow, and thats it. All that water now flows to the sea. ...Not to mention all the 100s of rivers, lakes and water courses in the US, you guys enjoy.
We have one large river system, that in summer is more like a series of lakes.

Totally different Continents Im affraid.

It is good to hear that Colin Barnett is smart enough to know that a formal split is not possible. These resources are not just WA's, but Australia's as well. The thought of having to get a passport and currency exchange just to cross the country is not good and trying to get a majority of votes in a majority of states is unrealistic over this issue. As for more investment from Asia, great. Asia has been a large part of the mining community here in Australia for a long time. I just hope they lift their worker standards with some of the stories going around as mining can be a very dangerous business and exploitation of illegal immigrants does raise many of the risks.
