From Italian news website(using translator)
PADUA. A strong earthquake was felt in Padua around 4 am. Many were awakened by the quake. Throughout the city are the alarms sounded. Some people took to the streets.

The magnitude of the shock should be, according to the first updates, around 4.2 on the Richter scale. But the agency Reuteurs about a magnitude 6.3 with epicenter north of Bologna.

At the moment there are no reports of damage or injury. But the checks are still ongoing.

Dozens of calls came to SUEM 118 of Padua, but apart from some illness, so far it seems no serious damage in Padua.

No, from europe yes but still a safe distance.
I have good friends living in Torino though. But that is still 300km from the epicenter.
I will give them a call later in the day.

Here some more pics:

La Repubblica

The EMSC has upgraded the quake to 6.1: EMSC

Witnesses report the quake lasted about 20/30 seconds, with horizontal and vertical shakings. There was a 4.0 foreshock in the evening of the 19th (at 23:13 local time) and a significative aftershock of mag 5.2 just one hour later at 3:02 local time.

Tens of aftershocks of mag <4.0 are also reported. At the moment the death toll is 4. Peace be upon them.

Oops! It's not local time but UTC. Sorry
