UN Diplomat: Confidential report finds Iran shipping arms to Syria

www.cnn.com

A confidential U.N. report reveals Iran is exporting arms to the Syrian government in violation of a ban on weapons sales, the same day President Bashar al-Assad blamed the violence in his country on the work of foreign-backed fighters.

I agree with the article .. its pretty obvious here that Iran
will not stand by and do nothing
while is most trusted ally is under attack by the enemy

The big war has started and we dont even realise yet
how do you think this syrian conflict will finish ?? into a official war
to help the syrian people against the tyranical regime

I dont see anyone backing down on this
especially not Assad

We already know that the opposition is paid by the US and some other Nato allies ..
even alCIAda support the opposition and not assad troops ..(recent attack in the capital)
for once they dont kill the US supporters .. how very odd
they magicaly transformed into a US Ally

and this article make us SURE we know who ship weapons to Assad troops

The big war has started 1 yrs ago under the disguise of a revolution

The draft report describes three seizures of Iranian weapons shipments, including two bound for Syria, within the last year, a Western diplomat told CNN on Wednesday on condition of anonymity. The official was not authorized to release details to the media.

The report was drafted by a panel of experts and submitted to the U.N. Security Council's committee that monitors sanctions against Iran, the official said.

The revelations came as al-Assad, in a rare interview, told Russia 24 that weapons in the hands of rebels were flowing into the country from neighboring Lebanon and Turkey.

"You can't simply close the borders and stop the smuggling, but you can reduce the flow," he said.

Good for the Iranians. Their friend is being attacked by al CIA da, so why shouldnt they help out? After all its what the west is doing, by supplying arms to al CIA da. A known terrorist organisation, wanted by different countrys arround the world.

Let's see, days after the u.s. is accused of shipping arms to syria, *surprise surprise* an "unnamed" official blames it on Iran. Typical misdirection and frame up. Someone is shipping weapons to syria, its either u.s. or iran, take a wild guess.

because both are supporting one side

Ummm... Why guess? Syria and Iran have a very well announced and public Military Alliance and mutual aid treaty between their nations. It isn't that I'm surprised Iran is shipping arms into Assad's Government, it's that the media finds it worth reporting as a story. Do headlines get made when a NATO nation ships arms into another one? Well... Whats the difference from the perspective of Tehran and Damascus?

Oh please this has nothing to do with who is Iran's allies. If this were true why announce it now? Because obviously the u.s. has to cover their behind after the pr nightmare of the world finding out they are arming rebels.

Note: an "unnamed official" is a contradiction of terms, not a real officially released statement.

If the u.s. accuses you of a crime, it must likely means they committed it. FYI.

Orwell was right on......The truth is always the opposite of their statement now...doublespeak is prevalent in the MSM.
When anything gets reported, its always with a slant that spins the report into propaganda.
The facts are plain to see from the sidelines once you are hip to the games they play with them......
well, mostly anyways.....
I heartily agree with the above posters.

Long ago I once held a job where this would have gotten me laughed out of the office....

A confidential U.N. report revealed ...... The draft report describes ...... a Western diplomat told CNN on Wednesday on condition of anonymity. ..... The official was not authorized to release details to the media.... The report was drafted by a panel of experts and submitted to the U.N. Security Council's committee ..

Actual intelligence value = ZERO

Also... consider this... "draft" reports are not "submitted"..... reason? Because they are "drafts."

This speaks not to the OP, but to the source that has devolved from journalism to 'gossip rag for influence peddlers.'

The qualifiers are there to ensure they are not liable for lying.

And what can we say of an "unnamed" official who makes a habit of releasing documents without authorization?
Murdoch much?

- It just goes to show that there is no difference in the culture across the MSM for those institutions who care more about political access than the craft of journalism.

This kind of thing is a disservice to the 'audience' because when they finally report the truth, all we can remember is how easy it was for them to lie.
